THE PRESIDENT: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I'm sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning.
Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people and Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn't find a common ground -- it didn't work.
Congress really needs to prove to the American people that it can come together on hard issues. The Congress needs to work on comprehensive energy policy and good health care; make sure health care is affordable without inviting the federal government to run the health care system. We've got to work together to make sure we can balance this federal budget, and not overspend or raise taxes on the American people. We've got a lot of work to do.
When they come back from the summer -- from the July recess, before the summer break begins, we'll be focusing on the appropriations process. And I look forward to working with Congress to balance our budgets and to be wise about how we spend the people's money.
Thank you for your time.

bump!
Didn’t Hillary and her daughter go to Africa about this time in Bills second term?
When the American public has suffered enough from Chinese cr@p foodstuffs (the latest today is poisonous microbes in catfish) they'll do something.
Good, wonderful, excellent...........
See post #19. :o)
When the lipstick on the subprime market pig is licked off, I don't think the American public will care much about food products. However, I hope you're right!
I am ready for anything. One thing today taht made me feel really good was to see Sen Vitter from LA stand up and speak against this Immigration bill. Gave me hope for tomorrow because he young, articulate, and not afraid to take a stand.
Still cannot get over the time alloted disparity — talk about shameful and underhanded — this whole debacle was topped off by Obama saying the leaders get special privileges to talk when Sessions questioned Reid going on and on. We need that remark to keep playing over and over again.
And TRY PARAGUAY NOW!!!

bttt
There will be only one book in his library to check out.
When enough of them die, or get terribly sick, they’ll care.
Over 4,000 dogs and cats died from the Chinese melamine in pet food, and I don’t think any of their owners will get over that any time soon.
Then there was the toothpaste, and now the catfish, not to mention the dangerous toys. There’s a developing trend, and China is still red. People are starting to wake up.
I’m hoping that these things will be the pin to make the globalist bubble burst. We’re starting to see that going global does not insure quality or safety. Americans are used to safe food, for one thing.
LOL! I wonder which one that will be? LOL!
Sorry Mr. President but your arrogance and failure to look at this in a realistic light killed the bill. Your statements about not only your base but the American public helped sink this bill. Your dependence on your good friend Ted helped sink this bill. In short, it was a bad bill being pushed by the wrong people for the wrong reasons.
Just what did/does Hildebeast have on you/pappy/Millie in those FBI files?
Go have a few dozen drinks on me, Jorge.
I will reimburse you in pesos.
You disagree, but I decided. Because, I am the Decider.
Thank you (gracias), George W. Bush, el Americano Presidente.
p.s., just pay your taxes.
I am afraid you may be right....but lots of conservatives have computers....so maybe there is hope for us yet....even if they do turn off radio to the RIGHT
He needs to resign!
I agree, it just amazes me, that he doesn’t get it......
I emailed him as such....
