I remember a few months a go I took some flak for not buying into the Brownback hype. I sure hope today's events puts to rest any notion that Brownback is capable of presidential leadership.

Voted for clouture, then changed his vote to no, when he say it would fail. He’s finished as a presidential contender, and quite possibly, a senator from Kansas.

Brownback would make a very fine President. I am glad his last vote was no. Shame on him for not starting there.
There are plenty of Republican in name only politicians we should get rid of. Brownback is not one of them. It amazes me how many people forget Bush has the same position yet he got their vote twice.

WEBSITE. Senator Switchback is actually BRAGGING that he voted against the immigration bill:
Brownback Votes Against Senate Immigration Bill
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today voted against the Senate immigration bill.
"I voted against the Senate immigration bill because I am not convinced it would fix our broken immigration system and it would most likely repeat the mistakes of the 1986 reform," said Brownback.
The immigration bill failed earlier today on a 46-53 procedural vote that required 60 votes for the bill to advance to a final vote.

As I understand it, Brownback is indeed a fine political and social conservative on many issues. But I think the problem with him as a presidential candidate is twofold: 1) He seems to be as dull as paint drying and isn’t getting any traction, and 2) this illegal aliens deal.
