As a member of the House, the Speaker is entitled to participate in debate and to vote. By custom, however, he or she does so only in exceptional circumstances. Normally, the Speaker votes only when his or her vote would be decisive, and on matters of great importance (such as constitutional amendments).
This has been a great day for the grand old USA!
Okay, it just seems like she’d be counted as “Not Voting” then. Guess not.
“We ought to let right-wing talk radio go on as they do now,
Sheesh. No kidding. Thanks for allowing us our God-given and first amendment guaranteed right to free speech.
jees em GUYS are swell for lettin us continue to enjoy rush n sean et al.....my god where does the republic get such men?
hhaahhhhaha
im honored......and relieved ....
and wonderin how anybody can debate that thing about liberalism NOT bein a menal disorder...
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairwoman of the Senate Rules Committee, said this week that she would review the constitutional and legal issues involved in re-establishing the doctrine.
tooo much consumin goin in heah...........
It’s not about fairness, and it’s not a doctrine. It’s government control of speech and opinion, leading to putting people in jail for their thoughts.
Rush and Sean are just about as important in the scheme of things as Paris Hilton.......
Paris helped defeat the President’s amnesty bill? Gee, I dodn’t even notice.
It’s not over yet. Should Her Thighness win the White House, she could direct the FCC to enforce “Fairness.” Mike Pence has introduced legislation that would require an act of congress to reinstitute the “Fairness Doctrine.” I suggest we get back on the phones. We know what to do.
Frankenfeinstein, Dick Turbin and John “F” Kerry along with their allies among the RINOs like Trent Lott have apparently lost again.
It was INDEED a glorious day for Americans yesterday!!!
The problem comes when opinion is disguised as "news". The Fairness Doctrine (whatever that is) wouldn't address this issue at all.
[George Bush is a Republican, he’s not a conservative. I certainly wouldn’t take it for granted he’s against the Fairness Doctrine.]
He could have been a good president but he decided to get along with the left wing, every time he did something good for America, he would follow it with something bad for America that pleased the left wing liberals.
He has hurt the conservative base by pandering to the left.
[Feinstein, Reid, and Schumer think the unwashed masses are too dumb to understand the Amnesty fiasco..]
The left does indeed hate the freedoms of the orignial U.S.Constitution and the Bill of Rights and have been effectively destroying them for many years now, with the votes of the unwashed masses of the left and moderates.
Driveway and pillows.
He might have been Wednesday. He's not today.
Oh geeeze, that's one 'ping' I shouldn't have opened first thing in the morning - just lost my breakfast!
One small step for freedom, one giant smack in the squash for left wing fascistas.
