>> I think we all have not-so-positive feeling towards Senator Chuck Hagel ... Comments or opinions - anyone?

Speaking strictly for myself, I have the same “not so positive feelings” towards Hagel that my bowels have for salmonella-contaminated seafood.

If Bruning proves to be real, I’ll bet he has no problem raising funds from Nebraska as well as from “furriners” like me. I’ll be happy to contribute a few bucks towards his success (and Hagel’s defeat).

Club member is exactly why I want term limits.

We don’t need club members, we need fighters for our cause. Clubs are created merely for cover, for payback, for inclusion.

They are up there to work for us - not be a country club partier.

I strongly disagree with President Bush on the illegal alien issue, but he still has my respect for his decisive handling of the Islamofascists in the wake of 9/11.

Is Bush better than Gore, yes, but he has lost my respect. He squandered an opportunity to right the good ship U.S.S. USA, but he wasted it. Even with the war, he started in Iraq negotiating with Muqtada. Then it was calling us sexist for opposing Harriet Miers, massive pork spending, calling racist for oppossing amnesty, and let's not forget not standing up for the Hadita Marines.

Several years ago, Hagel said he was "not elected to represent Nebraska," but to do what he felt was best for the country. And that was prior to Afghanistan, Iraq, shamnesty, etc. He has long angered Nebraskans and will find the going won't be so easy this time.

Regarding the questions about Bob Kerrey, the last rumblings were that his wife doesn't want to move here, so he probably won't be running. Kerrey can have moments of genius, but they are few and far between. Nebraskans still remember his late nite trysts in the governor's mansion with Debra Winger.

You are very angry with President Bush. Fine by me. I can see no disrespect in anything you write, so you’ve made my point for me. Mr. X has been saying your exact words for months now. He does not call the POTUS juvenile names. He fights on the issues, as it should be in a mature debate.

>> The President being called “chimpy” on this forum is unacceptable to me in any circumstance. The fact that other posters supported the statement was appalling.

Hmmmm... I studied this thread and searched for any use of the term “chimpy” and I found none. In fact, I looked back at the entire thread and noticed that NO ONE AT ALL bashed the President until YOU TWO BROUGHT IT UP AND KEPT IT GOING.

What the heck is up with that nonsense?

That describes many clowns on this forum

Your name calling reduces you to the same level as the people your comment is directed at.

Please re-read the comments. No one said it was on this thread. I said "this morning". Many knew what I was referring too. You only need ask but rather jump to accuse me of somehow lying.

I remember shortly after 9/11...i told my wife that at this point in time, Bush has the potential to go down as one of the great Presidents....jump forward to the present....i turn the TV channel when i see his chimpy little face...i don’t like posting that...but i just felt the need to come clean...

i feel better now.. ;)

Lame crapola.

You have a chip on your shoulder, and you & wideawake hijacked the thread at, oh, about post 3 to make it an anti-Bush-bashing whine instead of sticking to the subject.

That’s obvious to me. No further debate needed.

How much is the RNC paying you to take the heat off of Chuckie?

While I think it’s a good time for Bush to leave the scene, I can’t say I would be sorry to see Hagel join him. I would never mistake Bush for a conservative, compassionate or otherwise. Still I always enjoy it when some character like Hagel bites the dust because a conservative teaches him about arrogance.

Hagel has gone from an ACU rating of 96 in 2005, to one of 75, in 2006

Thats a substantial turn left

It happens to weak Republicans all the time.

Once they get inside the "Blue Bubble" of Washington they become intoxicated by its "blue gas", turn left and become beltway butt kissers.

It's not the disagreement with the President's mistakes that makes some here seem like clowns: it is the utter classlessness and puerility they display while expressing it.

Some people don't deal with their anger too well. You can't blame them. We see that man selling us out and attempting to destroy our country and our sovereignty. THAT is enough to anger most Americans. When I think what he would leave to our kids and grandkids simply because of his greed and lust for power, it really makes me angry. I'm ready to lynch him myself. That doesn't make me a clown, nor does it make any other FReepers clowns!!

It sure does.

You are ridiculous - listen to yourself: "lynch"? Have you completely lost it?
