WASHINGTON, June 29, 2007 Americans still face a tough fight inside Baghdad, but the trend lines are improving, the commander of Multinational Division Baghdad said today.
Army Maj. Gen. Joseph F. Fil Jr., speaking from Iraq, told Pentagon reporters that the overall trend lines in the city are positive. The number of attacks, first of all, has come down, he said. The effect of those attacks has come down significantly. |

This must be why the Dems are getting so desperate to cut-and-run again. Success in Iraq would be a major disaster for their 2008 plans.
Anything before the 2008 elections;)
I agree. The last thing the demotraitors seek is an upbeat, positive, going forward, upward trendline from Petraeus in Sept. Thus to preclude even that possibility they will attempt to shut down mil ops before Sept.
And I do not think Petraeus will offer anything other than a middle of the road assessment—some good news and some bad news is what I expect. He is a general afterall, and will find it difficult to provide Congress anything other than what they expect.
I like the sound of this.
It sounds something like a sanctioned militia.
It’s a mistake to look for trends. This war doesn’t work that way. This is just rosy hype, I’m afraid.
But..but..but...I thought it was all a quagmire, and...and..all of the Iraqis hated us, and...and..and..
Alexander Hamilton said a Nation that can prefer disgrace to danger is prepared for a Master and deserves one.
