Holy Father,

We thank You today, our one true God, for being the author of true liberty, freedom, and justice. We know that You have set Your laws and commandments before us, Father, and we praise You for the wisdom and the understanding You gave our Founding Fathers as they established the government of these United States. We commit our nation to You, Lord, asking that You never move Your hand away from us. Please do not leave us to our own devices, but dwell with us always in the Spirit, that America may be steadfastly led by Your truths. Restore in us the hope and the truth that directed the freedom-loving patriots throughout our nation’s history.

Father, please bless our President with far-reaching wisdom and discernment as he makes decisions that will affect the future of this nation. He has asked for our prayers, Father, knowing that You do mighty things through the prayers of Your people. He understands that You are the source of all wisdom. He acknowledges that he needs that which only You can provide. Therefore, we confidently place him in Your arms, Father, and ask You to lovingly provide everything that he needs to do the job You have set before him. Shield him and his family from the devil’s taunts and schemes. Father, we praise You and thank You for this leader You have chosen for this time, and we ask You to make his testimonies and witnessing extend beyond the boundaries of America. May others from all nations seek that which he has found, understanding that he is a disciple of Jesus Christ Who has made him free.

Father, we pray Your blessing upon our service men and women who selflessly toil to keep America safe from those who hate freedom. We pray for God-fearing men and women in our government and for the winnowing of those who blindly serve the devil. Bless every American, Father, who lives a life that honors You, who seeks to earn an honest living, who obeys the laws of this nation as well as the laws and commandments You have set before us. We confess that the strength of this nation lies solely in our obedience and our relationship with You. Give us courage to persist in prayer and to continue to lift up our nation and its leaders to You. You are the only wellspring that can provide eternal life through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, for the wonderful gift of salvation that You have offered to all of us.

We praise You for Your faithfulness to us in our personal lives as well as in the 231 years of our nation’s existence. We pray Father, that in the coming years, America will grow ever closer to You and that souls from every nation may know You through the collective testimony of Your Redeemed. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

How Long?

READ: Psalm 13

How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? —Psalm 13:1

My friends Bob and Delores understand what it means to wait for answers—answers that never seem to come. When their son Jason and future daughter-in-law Lindsay were murdered in August 2004, a national manhunt was undertaken to find the killer and bring him to justice. After 2 years of prayer and pursuit, there were still no tangible answers to the painful questions the two hurting families wrestled with. There was only silence.

In such times, we are vulnerable to wrong assumptions and conclusions about life, about God, and about prayer. In Psalm 13, David wrestled with the problem of unanswered prayer. He questioned why the world was so dangerous and pleaded for answers from God.

It’s a hard psalm that David sang, and it seems to be one of frustration. Yet, in the end, his doubts and fears turned to trust. Why? Because the circumstances of our struggles cannot diminish the character of God and His care for His children. In verse 5, David turned a corner. From his heart he prayed, “But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.”

In the pain and struggle of living without answers, we can always find comfort in our heavenly Father.

Not ours to know the reason why
Unanswered is our prayer,
But ours to wait for God’s own time—
To lift the cross we bear. —Anon.

When we pray, God wraps us in His loving arms.

May the Angels themselves scatter your Spirit-filled prayer throughout the Heavenly Realm, Faith, and may its sweet perfume fall upon the people.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
Irving Berlin ~ 1938

While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home

GOD BLESS AMERICA
MY HOME SWEET HOME ...

AMEN FAITH AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

Psalms 149:1
Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints.

Psalms 149:2
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Psalms 149:3
Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.

Psalms 149:4
For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.

Psalms 149:5
Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.

Psalms 149:6
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,

Psalms 149:7
To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples;

Psalms 149:8
To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;

Psalms 149:9
To execute on them the written judgment-This honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD!
(NKJV)

“The Lord taketh pleasure in his people.”
- Psalm 149:4

How comprehensive is the love of Jesus! There is no part of his people’s
interests which he does not consider, and there is nothing which concerns
their welfare which is not important to him. Not merely does he think of
you, believer, as an immortal being, but as a mortal being too. Do not
deny it or doubt it: “The very hairs of your head are all numbered.” “The
steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his
way.” It were a sad thing for us if this mantle of love did not cover all
our concerns, for what mischief might be wrought to us in that part of our
business which did not come under our gracious Lord’s inspection!
Believer, rest assured that the heart of Jesus cares about your meaner
affairs. The breadth of his tender love is such that you may resort to him
in all matters; for in all your afflictions he is afflicted, and like as a
father pitieth his children, so doth he pity you. The meanest interests of
all his saints are all borne upon the broad bosom of the Son of God.
Oh, what a heart is his, that doth not merely comprehend the persons of
his people, but comprehends also the diverse and innumerable concerns of
all those persons! Dost thou think, O Christian, that thou canst measure
the love of Christ? Think of what his love has brought thee-justification,
adoption, sanctification, eternal life! The riches of his goodness are
unsearchable; thou shalt never be able to tell them out or even conceive
them.
Oh, the breadth of the love of Christ! Shall such a love as this have
half our hearts? Shall it have a cold love in return? Shall Jesus’
marvellous lovingkindness and tender care meet with but faint response and
tardy acknowledgment? O my soul, tune thy harp to a glad song of
thanksgiving! Go to thy rest rejoicing, for thou art no desolate wanderer,
but a beloved child, watched over, cared for, supplied, and defended by
thy Lord.
