Police Blow Up Car At Hospital

Updated: 15:47, Sunday July 01, 2007 Police have carried out a controlled explosion at the hospital where one of the alleged car bombers is being treated.

A suspect car was blown up by police in the car park of the Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, Sky News correspondent Rona Dougall said.

The pain of 2nd-3rd degree burns is so horrible, and so out of reach of even the strongest narcotics. Just the knowledge of what this scumbag is going through makes me want to throw up.

I know he’s evil beyond all redemption, but there is just something about the nature of burns like this. I am sure he would be grateful for a mercy lead injection right about now.

A controlled explosion of a car is when they put a small detonator on the explosive payload in the car and blow it in place. It is too dangerous to try to defuse the explosive in the car as a trigger can be placed inside the blocks of explosives themselves. Removing the explosives will detonate them.

The small charge will not destroy the car, at best, blow out the windows. If the goes up with a big bang, it was a car bomb. I have heard several trigger charges go off and they sound like a shotgun blast.

I believe it was the fourth car. 2 in London, 1 in Glasgow and the hospital lot makes 4. Two more arrests overnight...I think there are still more, especially in light of the Choudry comments.
