Yemen : terrorist attack targeted Spanish tourists / 6 dead
Le Figaro ^ | 07 /02/ 2007 | drzz

6 Spaniards tourists were killed by a car bomb which exploded in the historical landmark of Marib, 100 miles from Sanaa, Yemen's capital.

Sources tell LE FIGARO that the attack was "probably" planned by Al-Qaeda.

Yemen, country of origin of the family of Usama Bin Laden, is supported by the United States in its confrontation with the islamist radicals of the sunnite majority of the country. Since September 11, 2001, the Yemeni authorities launched a series of operations against the supposed Al-Qaida members. In September 2006, they had thus thwarted a double suicide bombing with the booby-trapped car against oil installations with Marib, in which four attackers and a guard had been killed.

I advise Zapatero to organize a GAY PRIDE in Yemen...

This m**er Zapatero has made gays the super-citizens of Spain and destroy the christian culture of this country.

A real shame. I fell in love with Barcelona when I was there back in the late 90’s. Would love to go back, but not now.

Who in their right minds would go to any of those countries — Yemen, Dubai, etc — for vacation in this day and age? Who would go to that part of the world out of anything but the most dire necessity?

People go all the time, especially Europeans in general and particularly Spaniards (because it’s fairly nearby). There are lots and lots of American tours to these places, too.

Some AQ head-honcho nutcase recently made a statement that the Gulf States and their tourism industry would be targeted. They regard these states as not sufficiently Islamic. Guess we’re seeing the lead-off of their summer campaign.

Right?

It's gotta be a euro thing, going to hell for your vacation.

Sometimes I browse the vacation logs on virtual tourist.com just to see what kind of person takes a vacation in, say, Togo, and you know what? It's always some stupid euro.

"We enjoyed our two weeks in Togo, except that it was so humid, our clothes never dried out. And my husband came down with a rare form of Rift Valley Fever. But the roaming government death squads couldn't have been nicer. We crossed into Burkina Faso and were delighted to meet an orpahn who, as near as we could tell, had recently been attacked by..."

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.

If we are not in Iraq, we shouldn’t be suffering Al Qaeda attacks, should we?

Therefore, according to the Left logic, it has been a branch of ETA in Yemen.

Evidently.
