Makes them falling off the bone tender.

Yep. I'm so sleepy I can't think straight. Read a couple pings and wondered what the heck thread I was on. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

As a “tail-gunner” up here..
I try to (politely) keep civilians OUT of the funeral procession..
It can be frustrating at times...

YEP. he DID! (my dad was a GRAND guy!)

btw, Rudy's (San Antonio) WET brisket is my very favorite BBQ.

only in TX could you get away with advertising your BBQ joint as:

"THE WORST BBQ IN TEXAS!"

Rudy's has gotten RICH on that motto.

Aloha Connie!

It was a big deal back then...a two day affair. We live in quick gratification world now....not saying Barbecues aren't well planned and well tended but those Clam Bakes served thirty or more and a lot of effort was put into one.

There were the hot dogs and hamburgers to tide everyone over through the baseball game and the cooking till the feast.

My Grandma and Grandpa came from the Depression era and had a large family. Celebrations were large and grand.

Thanks for “How Great Thou Art.”
That’s the first solo I ever sang in church. I think I was 15 at the time.

We like ribs, slow baked in beer, then basted in BBQ sauce and grilled to crisp ‘em up.

The main ingredient in the sauce is apples.

The winning entries in the annual barbeque competition in Memphis this year all had some variation of apple in them...apple juice, applesauce, apple cider...

The George secret is wipe it down with a paper towel when it is still scorching hot...They are a bear to clean cold..

Before wiping...wet 3 or 4 paper towels, lay them so they cover the bottom grill plates, then close the Foreman grill and turn it on. 'Cook' the paper towels for 30-45 seconds, then open 'er up and toss the towels.

Steam cleaner!

The label on the Kikkoman Steak Sauce bottle reads, “Apples.” Not juice, not cider, just apples. :-) I guess they must pulverize them for the steak sauce.

All this talk of food was great!

The BYJ talk was fun, too. Right? ; )
