I don’t usually make predictions but I predict Tancredo will be moving up. The three most viable Republicans will be Fred Thompson, Romney and Tancredo.

I agree that Tancredo will become more popular. In a June 23 straw poll, in Linn Co., IA, the second-most populated county in Iowa, the winner was Tommy Thompson, with 33%. The other results were: Brownback, 30%; Tancredo, 15%; Romney, 5%; John Cox (a conservative Chicago busniessman), 4%; Paul, 3%; Fred Thompson, 3%; Gilbert, 2%; Giuliani, 2%; Hunter, 1%; Huckabee, 1%; and McCain, 0%.

If Romney can’t win Iowa and New Hampshire, and do so convincingly, then he isn’t going to be viable for long.

I usually do make predictions. ;-) And I predict that you are wrong about Tancredo. He will not be moving up. The most viable Republicans are Fred Thompson, and Giuliani. Romney has topped out at 10% Giuliani and Thompson are statistically even, but as the candidates begin to drop out, most of their support will gravitate to Fred.

BTW though I don’t think he has any chance to win the nomination, I predict that Hunter will be the VP choice for Thompson. Hunter will help to will California, and that will be crucial to a winning strategy in November 2008.
