Corruption of the purse to beget corruption of the home.
"Voting Democratic is simply no longer an option for me." -- it took you this long to figure it out?
“He found out that when the senate, legislature, courts and city halls are under the total and absolute control of corrupt dhimmicrats, a Republican governor is completely handicapped.
To give him credit for Coupe Deval is just ridiculous.”
Indeed. There was a credible Republican candidate ... so I think the voters had something to do with it.
The REAL problem is simple: TOO MANY MASS. VOTERS ARE DYED-IN-WOOL DEMOCRAT LIBERAL VOTERS. Too many pull the trigger for the most offensively stupid liberal politicians, no matter how corrupt, wrong or bad for the state.
Why? Why is that?
Stupid voters begets stupid politics.
Nah, Granholm in MI takes the title.
Please bear in mind that at this stage its just gossip.
I can see that happening
If he had plans to run for President why would he run for re-election for Governor only to resign a few months later? There still would have been a special election and DeVal or another Rat would have probably won anyway.
And every year 350,000 college students come from the rest of the country and vote just like their liberal professors tell them to do. That doesn’t help.
“If he had plans to run for President why would he run for re-election for Governor only to resign a few months later? There still would have been a special election and DeVal or another Rat would have probably won anyway.”
He’d still be governor right now and wouldn’t have manhandled the state legislators the way the Deval did. That’s why he should have stayed, imo.
Republican Governors in Massachusetts have a history of bolting after realizing that their job sucks. Weld resigned to get an ambassadorship to Mexico after losing the 1996 Senate Race, which he was then denied by Jesse Helms. Cellucci resigned to be ambassador to Canada in 2001, and his replacement Jane Swift didn’t run for re-election in 2002. So in 2002, to calm questions from the media and many voters that he would be another run away Republican Governor, Mitt promised that he would serve any term he was elected to. His re-election in 2006 would have been dogged by questions about his previous promise and his obvious desire for the Presidency only two years after he would have been re-elected. Furthmore, he too realized his job sucked.
“The Three Rules of MA Politics.
1) Nothing on the level
2) Everything is a deal
3) No deal too small”
I heard this on Howie Carr and it is so true. I grew up in Boston (West Roxbury) and some of the guys I grew up with are in politics. Me, I went into the dreaded private sector and left Massachusetts for NH 12 years ago; best move I ever made.
Indeed. Nobody expected him to have smooth sailing, there was a helluva lot of work to be done. But when you pledge yourself to an important job, you need to see it through. Rather than once encountering those setbacks, either redoubling your efforts or trying a different approach, he decided to just give up and quit... AND... if that wasn't bad enough, got it in his head, a megalomaniacal delusion that he was QUALIFIED to run for President of the United States (!) That's the kind of mental illness I expect from Democrat pols, not Republicans.
"He found out that when the senate, legislature, courts and city halls are under the total and absolute control of corrupt dhimmicrats, a Republican governor is completely handicapped."
You're right, a GOP Governor is handicapped, but he KNEW THIS going in. He was pledged to doing something about it, and then once the '04 elections came and went, he gave up. He completely abrogated his duty as the party leader of the state, and it became all about his quest to become President. Nevermind the filty nest he was sitting in. It's like the plumber who lobbies to get a contract to clean up a mansion, after a leak is sprung, rather than try to repair it, he quits his job and decides to run for the head of his union. Yeah, that's a real record of accomplishment. I don't want this guy near ANY leadership position. He doesn't do his job and he cuts and runs from his responsibilities.
"To give him credit for Coupe Deval is just ridiculous."
To NOT credit him with handing the office of Governor to him on a silver platter is being ignorant. He refused to do his job, refused to run for a second term, and abandoned his state to a hapless Lieutenant that couldn't compete. That's his legacy.
"I'm not apologizing for him or supporting him -- just laying bare the facts."
Fair enough, but I lay out the facts as well. I speak as a former supporter of his. He lied to us, and he is not to be trusted. He certainly is not to be entrusted with the Presidency. If he couldn't take the heat on Beacon Hill, how is he going to handle the heat on Pennsylvania Avenue ?
"Since you're in Tennessee, why do you care? My guess is you support another candidate for the Republican ticket. Did I get that right?"
For the record, my location is irrelevent. I want responsible Conservative Republican leaders in every state and territory in the union. Whether in Alabama or American Samoa, Georgia or Guam, Virginia or the Virgin Islands, and Massachusetts, too. I closely follow ALL of our states and localities as best I can. Also, for the record, I was briefly up in MA leading up to the '94 elections supporting Romney in his run against the corpulent drunkard. I know the man quite well, and his flip-flopping record and ultimate choice of abandonment of duties, and I do not want to see ANY "Republican" of his RINO ilk anywhere near the halls of power, period.
And you can see my tagline for whom I'm supporting for President.
Practically every rodent Governor in the country has that title. They’re just differing degrees of horrible.
Ask an easy question... First off, there's no "special election" for Governors. The very LEAST Romney could've done was run for reelection and then resigned and left Kerry Healey as the Governor. While she's no gem, at the very least, she might've done as well as Jodi Rell in Hartford (who also inherited her job and was elected in her own right after John Rowland was convicted), and kept DeVal or any other rodent away from the office until at least 2011 (and if she was successful, 2015). But he couldn't be bothered to show that level of common courtesy.
I was never prouder of Jesse for bitch-slapping that King RINO abomination (battle for the soul of the GOP, huh ?). While Romney nailed the GOP coffin lid shut, it was his idol Slick Willie Weld that built the coffin and shoved the MA GOP's body inside. There are few people in public life I have more of an utter contempt for than Weld (although Whitman in NJ comes close, for similar reasons). Someone handed a prime opportunity to rebuild the state GOP in '90 after Dukakis, a 40% GOP State Senate, nearly 30% House, half the Congressional districts competitive (1, 3, 5, 6, 10). But after the RINO trash worked their magic, today, not competitive for a SINGLE Congressional seat in MA, down to 12% in the legislature. I'd like to know why we don't focus on getting Republicans to infiltrate the Democrat party to cause that sort of destruction from within, because no Democrat serving openly could cause that level of damage to us as the likes of Weld, Whitman, and Romney did. Hell, look what Weld did to that poor small college in Kentucky. He put them out of business ! And he was licking his chops at wanting to work his magic on what's left of the GOP in NY state. At least we stopped him there.
You can forget there being any kind of Republican resurgence.
You think Deval is GAY?
Actually, Massachusetts NEED and DESERVES a governor like Deval....it’s the ONLY thing that might wake them up to how awful the Democrats really are. Go Deval....do your THANG!
Sir Thomas More: Why Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world... but for Wales?
Not a team player.
Weeeeeeellllll, Ms Deval does have 2 children, but from a previous marriage and she's a bit older than he is and he "counseled" her while she got out of her abusive first marriage and he does hide behind her: ie dont ask me any tough questions 'cuz my wife is on Prozac.
And just look at the guy and how he acts: very thin skinned and prissy with a whole biography of victim stories.
My gaydar definitely picks up a blip but draw your own conclusions
