Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
And now in this great country of mine I have to "press 1" for English!

The truth is the word ‘income’ as used in the Income tax was never defined and left open the door for tax profiteers to define it in any way that suits their fancy. This is the root problem with the Income tax.
To get back to a well-defined and constitutional tax for funding federal government requires enactment of the FairTax (fairtax.org). The FairTax movement is gathering momentum and adding more and more members of Congress to its list of supporters.

People will pay any amount of taxes as long as you raise taxes slowly enough and give people lots of doritos and pro sports to watch. The revolution is not coming.

I always though it was sad how military personnel were taxed to pay their own salary.
Once I saw a “Hi and Lois” cartoon where some guy at Hi’s work was yelling “We must get the government out of our lives!”, and then Hi says “You used to be such a liberal. What happened?”, and the guy says “Taxes.”
