WASHINGTON — A House Judiciary Committee hearing into the decision to commute the sentence of former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby will also take a look at other presidential pardons, the chairman of the committee said Thursday.

"Yes, we’re going to review all of them, including Clinton’s, Bush one, Bush two, we’ll go back as far as they want," Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., said in an exclusive interview with FOX News Radio. Conyers added that the Nixon pardon would also be covered in the review.

How many people has Bush II pardoned? That brings us to Mr. Clinton.

Conyers is another brilliant argument for term limits. I’m telling you, folks, this guy hasn’t had an new idea since 1968.

Just think, all the Democrat imbeciles in the House will probably serve as long as Conyers has. Frightening thought.

That’s worse than Hurricane Katrina! Where’s FEMA?

You said :

I agree, what possible purpose can this be? They were elected to legislate and solve problems of our country, not investigate the snot out of every BS issue that the MSM prints. Amen

I would rather have the Democrats that control Congress doing this than actually writing more legislation that would give Amnesty to illegals , shut down talk radio, or impose more regulations and taxes on business and the people.

99% of legislation coming out Congress takes more of our freedoms, rights, and money away.

Politicians aren't there to solve any of our problems. Liberals/Democrats believe that they are there to solve all our problems. Most problems are invented by the media or if real are caused by government. I think they cause more problems than they solve .Government does most things poorly and I don't trust them to do they things they say they will. No one in their right mind should trust these evil politicians. It amazes me that liberals/Democrats do trust them.

The only things government should be concerned with and the only problems we have is that government is too big, that illegals are invading this country, crime ,and foreign enemies. Government is failing Americans in all of these basic functions. The border is not secure so they are letting a flood of illegals and foreign enemies into the U.S.. The government cannot protect citizens against crime but instead they take away our right to defend ourselves by carrying concealed guns.

The government cannot even do these basic and only legitimate functions. But people especially liberals trust these corrupt politicians to do thousands of other things .Amazing.

Government should just get out of the way and let capitalism and us individuals solve any problems we may have.

“I just read it in the Constitution. My review took 20 seconds.”

Exactly. That’s all the review that this needs, or deserves, since the President’s power is absolute, per the Consitution.

It should be interesting to hear how that Neo-Comm tries to spin this one...

Did Conyers call for a full review of all of Clinton’s pardons at the time when they were given? No, didn’t think so.

U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section. 2:
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

That should pretty much wrap up our review.

Has this old fart ever done one useful thing for the country?

Not yet, but when he dies he will; as will Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and O.J. Simpson.

Response from the Whitehouse...

“I don’t know what Arkansan is for chutzpah, but this is a gigantic case of it,” presidential spokesman Tony Snow said.

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., has scheduled hearings on Bush’s commutation of Libby’s 2 1/2-year sentence.”

“Well, fine, knock himself out,” Snow said of Conyers. “I mean, perfectly happy. And while he’s at it, why doesn’t he look at January 20th, 2001?”
