WASHINGTON (CNN) -- White House spokesman Tony Snow fired back at former President Bill Clinton after Clinton charged that the Bush administration believes the law is a "minor obstacle" in the "Scooter" Libby case.

"I don't know what Arkansan is for chutzpah, but this is a gigantic case of it," Snow told reporters in an off-camera briefing Wednesday.

Webster's New World dictionary defines chutzpah as "shameless audacity; imprudence; brass."

Classic definition:
Shooting your mother and father and then throwing yourself on the mercy of the court as an orphan.

Why couldn’t they have done that with the firing of the 6 prosecutors, and a whole slew of other issues?

Asked about the plan of House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers, D-Michigan, to probe the Libby commutation, Snow snapped that the congressman should "knock himself out," but also probe the slew of pardons granted at the end of the Clinton administration.

BWAHAHAHA! Tony Snow is great.

This CNN article claims Scooter was convicted of obstruction of justice.

That is incorrect I read someplace.

He was convicted of obstruction.....it makes me sick to say it, but its true. Given the overzealous Fitzy and the incompetent judge and the overtly biased jury, Libby was convicted. Its a disgrace, a travesty, and reminds us all that if EVER you are asked to appear before a GJ or to talk to the FBI, there is only one answer that can be given: I Don’t Recall.

Libby was railroaded; Wilson and Val are the liars here, and they walk scott free and get praised by old media.

I’m sickened by it all.

It was either written wrong or you read it wrong.

This has nothing to do with the article - but prayers for all our good Texas neighbors with all the rain and flooding.

The Judge in the Libby case said that the probation may not be served as it applies only to released felons from jail.

I seem to remember another person who lied to the Grand Jury and walked. Scott free. No punishment whatsoever.

WJC.

But, you misunderstand. The law is for Republicans to obey. Good people do not have to obey the law. Good is defined by the MSM.

‘zackly. If Scooter had repeated “I don’t recall 395 times like Mrs. Clinton did, he’d be a free man, without a new mortgage debt today.

Yes. You would think it was only possible to obstruct justice if your testimony prevented or delayed a prosecutor from finding or prosecuting a criminal. Since no crime had been committed and there was no criminal to be found in the first place, and Fitzgerald knew as much from the very beginning, how could Libby possibly have obstructed justice?

I have said before that Judge Reggie Walton is corrupt. Some freepers disagreed with that. But I fail to see how any other construction can be put on his complete and deliberate mishandling of the trial.

Tony Snow was understating the hypocrisy of the Clintonoids utterly idiotic statement about President Bush's commutation of Scooter Libby's jail term.

Presidential Pardons / Commutations are both Constitutional AND extensively used by past Presidents. See History of Presidential Clemency actions 1945 to 2001.

See also PRESIDENTIAL CLEMENCY ACTIONS BY FISCAL YEAR July 1, 1900 to June 30, 1945

and seeRecipients of Clemency under President GHW Bush and under Bill Clinton.

“Clinton” and “shameless” just seem to go together. After watching these two since 1992, what else do you expect out of them? And not only them, but the rest of the members of the Clinton apparat as well.

“they walk scott free and get praised by old media.”

The old media is made up mostly of Democrats, and its view is exactly the same as that of the Democratic Party.
