Interesting link. Thank you.
Of anything I’d change in the Constitution, the ability of Presidents to pardon or otherwise grant clemency would be the first, if not only.

And now the big liar is criticizing President Bush for commuting the sentence; I want Fitzy fired, I want him to get the same treatment Niphong got. The more I think about this whole fiasco, the more I want that. I think Walton should hang up his black robe, he has shown to be a prejudiced judge. Fitzy, Russert, Mithcell, Wilson and Val — there are you liars. I’m disgusted by this whole thing.

The 12 intellectuals who filed an amicus brief on Libby’s behalf should take on his appeals — pro bono — and fix this disater. I have given money to LIbby, and will do so again to help defray the costs of this railroading.

The criminal liar has the audacity to comment, his wife has the audacity to comment, and the liberal media give both of them a general pass on it.

The media in this country have proven themselves to be propagandists for the DNC. And although they are losing audience they still have an impact.

I’m glad to see the White House fighting back, they need to fight harder and louder though. I hope this is the beginning of a new trend.

Finally - a little (I stress little) bravado from the White House.

One of the main reasons the Bush White House is perceived as a total failure is precisely because they refuse to fight back with the same vigor as the people throwing stones.

It makes GWB and his people look like wimps, and it encourages more rock throwing from the reprehensible Democraps, most of which are near traitorous politico thug class.

I’m convinced that if the White House would have counter attacked Valerie Plame and Joe “the a-hole” Wilson with the TRUTH, many in the lib-weenie press and Democratic-supporting Justice Dept. would have been shamed into backing off their jihad against Scooter Libby.

But instead, over and over, the White House just stands there like the schoolyard geek and takes it on the chin. It’s maddening.

"Why couldn’t they have done that with the firing of the 6 prosecutors, and a whole slew of other issues?"

Precisely, and that's why the Clinton trash can get away with their outrageous statements. You can bet your bippy that there won't be a GOP campaign ad at election time highlighting this hypocricy. The effort will, once again, have to come from the grassroots because the GOP is a spineless organization. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it was 8 prosecutors, but your name probably isn't Schumer so its to be forgiven. take care!

Here are my thoughts on the Clintons.

Lately, I've been reading blogs and posts who some who seem to have misgivings about some people's "obesessions" with Bill and Hillary. I wonder if it has ever occured to these people that maybe, just maybe there's a damn good reason for these "obsessions".

BILL CLINTON - White House staff meeting regarding the IRS going after Kenneth Starr;

"I can do any G**d****** thing I want. I'm President of the United States. I take care of my friends and I f*** with my enemies. That's the way it is. Anybody who doesn't like it can take a hike".

Now, let me ask you a question. Do you really think this nation would be well off with someone like this in power? Do you really expect us to believe that America woud survive with someone of this kind of goonish attitude running the country?

This kind of mindset is why people like myself have pretty much lost all respect for the Democrats and their willing accomplishes in the lamestream media. I've seen lots of good, honest decent innocent people blow the whistle on these goons only to end up receiving visits from the FBI for simply just doing so. Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary both belong in a prision cell. They DON'T belong out here in public.

Before anyone starts getting so put off by people's "obessions" with Bill and Hillary. They need to take a good hard work at how they treat their enemies. I can tell you it's not a very pretty picture.

This is the same President who pardoned Several hudred Puerto Ricans Terrorists. This is also the same President whose policies led to 9/11. Can we really afford to gamble on letting Hillary or the Democrats and RINO's run this country? I don't think so.

Regards

You would take that out of the constitutional powers given to the President? Well it is the ultimate check on an out of control judiciary.....so part of the checks and balances the founders built into our governmental structure.

The problem IMHO is not this Presidential privilege but in the character of the person in the Presidency.

I respectfully submit that it is an unwholesome temptation and overused by even the best of presidents. I consider myself a strict constructionist and lover of the Constitution, but the problem of an overreaching SCOTUS, which has been the case since Marbury vs, Madison, should be addressed in a manner other than allowing a political figure to override a judge, jury and/or prosecutor. I’m sure that Mr. Libby is guilty of no more than a faulty memory, but letting ANY human being had out ‘get out of jail free’ (or, in Libby's case with a huge fine, etc) cards is more power than should be given to anyone. Just my .02 The farther we get from a powerful presidency (it has been far too strong in relation to congress since FDR, if not Lincoln IMHO) the better.

Did you think this after the Clinton pardons of 2001?

This poster would like to see a bit more Chutzpah from our side.

Why is our President, who is so bold about foreign policy, so profoundly timid about Democrats??

This was a good start. It’s only about six years late.

He needs to make up for some of those thousands of lost opportunities, by letting loose on Democrats a couple of times.

I mean, really let loose on them.

You’ll motivate the base, and frankly it will be true.

Not insulting. Not meant to be so. There are lots of “youngsters” on here who have no knowledge of the Clinton Crime years. There are others who tend to overlook the Clinton crimes while highlighting President Bush’s acts that they don’t agree with. Sorry did not mean to insult.

I’m old enough to remember Ford pardoning Nixon quite well. Argued it over with my father (a hardcore, old school Joe McCarthy type who liked Nixon).

I hated the idea of pardons then, still do; IMHO laws should be very few, harsh and absolute, immutable and devoid of recourse or appeal, any and all punishments horrific and immediately applied, preferably limited to 40 lashes and crucifixion for first and second offenses respectively with the entire legal code limited in size to that which can be written on one sheet of paper in 12 point type.
