Did the Minutemen really proclaim themselves "vigilantes?"
No, I believe this was the first lie of this speech. Bush called these MM heroes vigilantes.

At the same time, it is both unproductive and untrue to tag as "amnesty" any proposal that would put the undocumented on a path to earned citizenship, since the bill we're debating would penalize those who broke our laws with steep fines and require them to start their quest for citizenship at the back of the line.
It is amnesty because the illegal aliens 1) get to stay in this country 2) get access to all sorts of taxpayer-funded services 3) get on a path to citizenship. In order for any plan to not be amnesty, the illegal aliens caught here would immediately be on a list that would never be allowed citizenship. That should be the penalty for breaking our laws. (Plus be deported back from whence they came.)

"...the very first time I saw him (before I knew his name or party), and I really thought most people would see him the same way."
I felt the same way; the first time I laid eyes on him and heard him speak, I turned and told my wife he was just a "snake oil salesman".
I sometimes wonder if by virture of Ross Perot's behavior, if he wasn't just a "plant" to dilute the vote to get the clintons in office. In one way, what could they give Perot to play this foil, as he's already filthy rich, but then I notice how completely the man dropped totally out of sight, never to be heard from again.
But, the bottom line, clinton would not have won without the "little general" running interference.

He’s also against racial neutrality in education, and came out strongly opposed to the recent Supreme Court ruling to that effect.

What scares me is... who is a real candidate in this election?
The real candidate is the United States of America and will it be elected to run another 4 years and continue to lead the fight for man's freedom and dignity in the face of terrorists, dictators and one world advocates.

You are correct, Obama is strictly a creation of the leftist MSM: He was an unknown, untalented Illinois state legislator who routinely lost when seeking higher office. Until the MSM conspired to create him in its own image. The MSM basically said: “We can create a viable candidate out of whole cloth and force him on the American people just to show that we can do it!”

“Its going to be Hillary/Richardson, my guess.”
That’s a given. Richardson is in the race ONLY to get the VP nod, and Hillarrhea will tap him for same.

T.L.Sink, you are spot on. Obama is a political hack and a puppet. The DNC and MSM have pushed him so hard onto the scene because he is a moldable “well-spoken black” (liberals’ words, not mine) without any prior national clout. The DNC and MSM are using Obama to control the left-leaning peasants and uniformed centrists. Obama is kept on a very short leash and has no choice but to go along and be a good little servant. After all, if Obama loses just MSM support, he dries up overnight.

Obama is no modern day Moses. He wouldn’t have told Saddam to let his father’s people go (Muslims).

All true but Id say the swooning began before his stupid speech at the convention. There was a “wait till you see this guy” mood among the “hard news” folks a day or two before the speech. He was a fake from the very start.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The back of the line starts in their own countries...and stays there until such time as they qualify for entrance into the US by satisfying every REAL IMMIGRATION requirement.,..
STEEP fines? The fees were much less than the costs to REAL immigrants and gave them freebies to boot...free college, welfare, medical benefits...that REAL immi9grants and American citizens dont get...
Why do the AMNESTY lovers continue to act like FDR didnt win the election if they keep saying so...

But it was a great, swoon-worthy speech..

That’s my guess too. Richardson will allow her to pander to the Hispanic vote. In fact, I’ve heard several commentators say that Richardson is really in the race for the VP spot.

Yep. Richardson gives Hillary geographic spread to the SW, the hispanic connection, and world diplomatic “gravitas.”

Notice he never uses his first name “Hussein.” He’ll try to be all things to all men but he won’t be able to hide the fact that he’s a shill for the ultra-Left.

I completely agree. My concern is that many will think that in defeating cloture in the Senate that the issue is settled. Far from it. We’ve won a battle but not the war. It’s very important to keep the pressure on the politicians and insist that they ENFORCE THE LAWS that exist right now.

[Obama says Minutemen are "Self-proclaimed Vigilantes"] When we first tried to fix the system last year, it was a time when hundreds of thousands of immigrants were protesting in the streets, while self-proclaimed vigilantes known as Minutemen were rushing to defend our Southern border. -----------------------------------------------------------

There, that's much better!

That's it. We don't need Congress to waste our money fighting over bills - the laws are already on the books.
Personally, I'm waiting for the Hazelton decision. I think once that ordinance passes the courts, we'll see cities and states all over enforcing their own illegal immigration laws. It will be a beautiful thing!
