Operation against Lal Masjid begins
Updated at 0445 PST ISLAMABAD: The massive operation has been started against Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa.
According to ISPR statement, the operation against Lal Masjid management has been started.
Pak Army Spokesman Maj Gen Arshad Waheed said that the operation from three sides of Lal Masjid premises has been started.
He said that security forces would try to enter the Lal Masjid premises.
Security forces have taken Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa in besiege and sounds of explosions and intense firing are being heard from Lal Masjid site.
According to Geo News, 22 blasts were heard. The whole area is shivering and the air is permeated with smoke and fire.
Security forces said that they had orders to launch the operation as soon as the dialogues failed.
The security forces have tendered last warning to the people present at Lal Masjid.

Commandos enter Lal Masjid
Updated at 0525 PST ISLAMABAD: Pak Army Spokesman Maj Gen Arshad Waheed said the commandos have entered Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa and now they are present at Lal Masjid rooftop.
Talking to Geo News, he said that militants are firing back.
He urged the people living in nearby houses not to come out of houses and on rooftops.
Maj Arshad said the operation against Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa started at 4 am and still underway till the writing of this news story.
Pak Army Spokesman said the operation will last until the militants present at Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa are brought under control, adding that loss of human lives is quite possible.
