PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -- The Prince William County board voted Tuesday on whether to adopt tougher measures that would target illegal immigrants.

The proposed measure requires that immigration status be checked before someone could use public services such as schools, libraries and swimming pools. The bill also requires police to check the residency status of anyone suspected of breaking the law. The measure would also force county police to ask about immigration during routine traffic stops.

Authorities said the names of undocumented residents that are gathered would be submitted to immigration officials for possible deportation

I will put up another one, from LA OPINION daily newspaper in Los Angeles, translated by automatic translation machine. It will sound funny, maybe like “Yoda” from Star Wars, but you will get the idea. Please bear with me for a moment.

Jeez, these people could at least pretend they are not reading from the same book of instructions and talking points. Bunch of bloody parrots.

-The current system is clearly broken

-The status quo is clearly unacceptable

-While the current bill had flaws...

Wasn’t when I moved here 20 some years ago. In fact the Virginia welcome center still sits on the Fairfax County - Prince William County line - heading into Prince William County.

But the liberals have tried to Fairfaxize us for years, and now I do believe we’re occupied. Our local paper, The Manassas Journal Messenger, is now written by La Raza and we push 1 for Spanish and 2 for English.

Today it is a Derelict and Corrupt place I moved into Manassas in 1984 it was a beautiful and safe place now as I drive through it and it is inundated with gangs... I am not a prejudices person have family members who married Puerto Ricans .. just want Manassas safe schools and no gangs . Don't want a repeat of Camden..

I was working in my yard, and this woman walked up to me and started jibbering in Spanish. I said, “I don’t know what you’re saying,” and she looked offended. “Habla Espanol?” “Nope.” “NOT EVEN A LITTLE?!”

The bill was compromised to allow for education and medical treatment.

In some respects not what is needed, but on the other, it allows the bill to go into effect w/out a federal judge signing a restraining order (or whatever else they can do).

So....

Which presidential candidate (err... GOP-er ‘cause we know no Dem will) will step up to the plate and endorse the actions of PW County.

Or, which reporter will have the onions to ask each candidate if they approve or disapprove of the new law?

In the post-immigration bill climate, someone could score big points.

Here is a translation from babelfish.

Washington, 6 jul (EFE). - The meeting of supervisors of the county Prince William (Virginia) will vote Tuesday a resolution that hardens the measures against the undocumented people of the county, today informed one into the local chains of the television channel MSNBC. PUBLICITY Of being approved the proposal, one of most severe against illegal immigration in all the country, this one would give to the police migratory functions like reviewing estatus of any person who receives a stop in routine controls and that are suspicious of to have infringed the law. In addition it would demand that the libraries, the schools and the swimming pools even verify also estatus of anyone of their users, which would suppose a problem because the 20 percent of the population of the county is of origin immigrant. In the case of the schools, the preoccupation is still greater since the public education has been considered until now like a right of the immigrants, are or not legally based in the country. John Stirrup, one of the members of the governing body of Prince William, tries that this resolution is voted during the next meeting Tuesday 10 of July, according to chain WRC-TV, of group MSNBC. Michigan, lawmakers considered stripping health and welfare benefits from undocumented immigrants.

How the hell did they get these benefits in the first place? Now, "stripping benefits from ILLEGALS is being considered". CONSIDERED? What's there to consider?

Ah, they must be the new class, Dingy Harry's "undocumented Americans!

See, at last I got it.

Our Board of County Supervisors is comprised of 6 Republicans and 2 Democrats. The 6 GOPers are all pretty conservative. The most moderate of them said regarding illegals yesterday during the debate, “You don’t belong here.”

Thanks for the ping!

Officials said the measure may face some legal obstacles in terms of schools checking residency status because courts have upheld the right of undocumented immigrants to a public education.

Yep...I think I read that in the Constitution somewhere...the federal government shall confiscate citizen's assets in the form of a tax to provide free public education for all illegal invaders.

Officials said the measure could fuel a nationwide debate over illegal immigration.

That would be nice...but I don't see it happening unless/until there's a major terrorist attack on US soil with massive loss of life, AND it's proven that the terrorists gained access by walking across the Mexican border. Then maybe...

"They should expect a visit from the ACLU."

My hope is that so many towns, cities, counties, states will pass so many restrictions, that the ACLU is overwhelmed!
