For Democrats, The Truth Is REALLY "Out There"
Charleston City Paper ^ | July 11, 2007 | Michael Graham

Posted on 07/11/2007 1:22:54 AM PDT by suspects

John Conyers, prominent Democratic congressman, says that President Bush's decision to commute Scooter Libby's prison sentence creates "the suspicion was that if Mr. Libby went to prison, he might further implicate other people in the White House."

Patrick Leahy, prominent Democratic senator, suggests that Bush "bought [Libby's] silence" with the commutation but withheld a full pardon as "a blatant way of guaranteeing" Scooter wouldn't talk.

Cindy Sheehan, prominent insane person, says that she will run against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi unless the speaker files articles of impeachment against President Bush, in part because the president kept Libby out of prison.

Oh, and Sheehan also says that one reason she's planning to run for Congress is because "the little voice inside [my] head" told her to.

Proving that God understands that the key to great comedy is timing, all of these events occurred the same week American commemorated the 60th anniversary of the "weather balloon crash" (wink, wink) in Roswell, N. M. Sixty years of government conspiracies and cover-ups, all to keep us poor, deluded Americans from finding out "the truth."

Just ask Agents Scully and Mulder.

I asked Dennis Balthaser a "certified UFO field investigator" (hey, you think I'd trust an uncertified one?) what the government is still hiding in Roswell. Do they really think the Star Wars generation would be freaked out by proof of extraterrestrial life?

"It's just government's nature to cover things up," he told me. "That's what they do. Watergate, Iran-Contra, the Kennedy assassination..."

JFK? Yeah, right.

They should put Fitz under oath and ask him why the investigation went past day 3 since it was then when they know who leaked the name, even though she was NOT covert.

The Democrats are loons. Their craziness is fun to watch.

Exactly! More to the point, if Fitzgerald knew all along Armitage was the leaker, why did he decide to focus the investigation on Libby? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Yep, Fitz had a nice abuse of power going there IMO.

Conyers and Leahy probably think up these bizarre scenarios because that's how they would be operating if they were in the White House. I think the word is projecting.

"Fitz under oath"

I can't get past that particular fact. If the whole thrust of this sorry investigation was to find out who leaked Plame's name and Fitzgerald knew that fact from the onset, how could he allow the investigation to go forward unless he was on a political fishing expedition? In short the whole thing was a sorry sham, and it proved that Fitzgerald did not have a shred of integrity. He's the one who should now be on trial and facing disbarment for his activities in the matter.

I'm not sure I agree with you.

Lately, more and more of the loonies on the left are making statements about criminalizing political opposition. To them, it's patriotic to protest against the government, but for those with opposing views they brand them traitors.

Right out to the Communist Manifesto, Marx said that those unwilling to go along with the "people's revolution" would be disenfranchised and have their property confiscated.

These people are deranged enough to shoot service men home on leave. They will eventually use the same tactics on their opposition as they used on Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich, and others.

Here is the problem. We are calling them the loonies on the left. They aren’t. They are criminals, using the political process to hide their crimes.

1. Shut down the AG’s office
2. File bogus charges against an administration up to their eyeballs and demand resignations.
3. Have the useful idiots come out of the woodwork to further muddy the waters.

Meanwhile, Harry Reid steals, Pelosi steals, Clinton steals, Schumer steals, Murtha steals and there is no one to prosecute them.

Their rhetoric is really heating up. Witness RFK Jr and Michael Moore as well as investigations without any probable cause. Most Americans are saner than than, thankfully. So, let them rip. I think low Congressional ratings are probably more about this freak show they are presenting than the Iraq war. And if Cindy challenges Nancy, that may allow a R to win.

The Demonrats continue to imagine grievances against President Bush and his administration because they can’t find any real ones.

In my humble opinion, John Conyers takes his orders from the Kremlin.
