To: Turret Gunner A20

Why isn’t it “impossible” to enforce the tax laws? There are many more tax-payers than illegals, but sheer volume doesn’t seem to deter the IRS from trying to catch tax cheats.

The IRS doesn’t do such a great job, they ignore many tax cheats, and are about 3 years behind on auditing the others.

I had a friend just get a notice on their 2004 taxes. It wasn’t a big problem, they didn’t owe any money, the IRS was just asking for an explanation of something. Point is, though, it’s their 2004 return and the IRS is just getting around to looking at it.
