I think you're both right. DEI went through a slump and their equipment hasn't been competitive until this season. I also think that poor equipment along with all the other things happening at DEI messed with Jr.'s attitude, though this season has been a big improvement. He's very competitive and to not do well on the track has got to be tough. He's also a pretty easy going guy, but he's had to deal with a lot. He certainly seems happier right now than he did this time last year.
Regardless, if he was happy where he was at DEI, there's no way anyone could lure him away from DEI. Both DEI and Dale Jr. are going through some positive changes and hopefully the rest of this season and 2008 will continue that trend. I want them all to do well.
