Breaking News.. Second Fatal Shooting At The Border This Week. (Campo, CA) (Vanity)
7/11/07 | Campo Minutemen

Posted on 07/11/2007 6:57:37 PM PDT by Ladycalif

There have been two fatal shootings on the south side, just over the border fence this week, near Smith Canyon.

This is related to the fighting over the trails between the drug runners and the human smugglers. It may also be related to the recent kidnappings for ransom in Tijuana of members of a drug cartel by anther gang. (For Spanish Speakers, this has been covered extensively in La Opinion.)

The Border Patrol has increased its numbers and is militarized. They are trying to prevent the killings from coming over the border.

Kingfish has postponed his trip home, at the request of local residents. Gadget is there, as are Chechstan and Roofer.

Experienced Border Watchers who wish to come to Campo should contact Kingfish for additional information, and details that we have been asked not to release on line

You may not be the right person to ask, Lady Calif, but has anyone ever requested, under the Freedom of Information Act, copies of the videotapes the border patrol has of incidents where rocks, etc., are lobbed at BP agents?

That should be up for Youtube.

Thanks for keeping us informed. I am in Baja, as my name might imply.

I hope out border patrol guys are careful and don’t have to defend themselves. I’d hate to see any of them end up in GITMO. That would probably happen even if they justifiably killed any illegal criminal.

Just got off the phone at 9:05 PM, Mountain time, from talking to
Kingfish. Mexican Military has been south of position 151 all day...
much activity. A large motorhome (Mexican) has pulled up on the south
side of the fence in an area that is blind to the Border Patrol, but
not to Kingfish situated on a high peak, with a commanding view of
dozens of miles in all directions. This area where the motor home is
at is the same general area where two fatal shootings have occurred in
the last few days, on the Mexican side of the Border, as the Narco
gangs battle it out for possession of some of the most lucrative
smuggling trails in California. Roofer, Gadget Dan, Checkstan, are
located near the Oaks, Kingfish is on high point, and rumor has it
that Jim Chase is to be in the area shortly! Border Patrol is on a
very high alert status at the present time, due to the killings just on
the other side of the Border, and because of the presence of large
numbers of Mexican Military within a mile or so of the Border... more
as it becomes available...

Kep up the good work.

The openborder bots don’t have a clue what is going on with the drug cartels, the kidnappings both in TJ and San Diego. The beheadings, and other corruption.

This news reaffirms the wisdom of selling my house in San Diego and relocating to Idaho. The neighborhood where I grew up in Chula Vista is nearly 100% Spanish speaking hispanics. They all run scared of the gangs in the area. The neighborhood where I lived in Mira Mesa was filling with hispanic gangs, graffiti and drive-by shootings by the time I was ready to sell in late 1999. Another FReeper mentioned some killings have occurred in recent months in Mira Mesa. Without research, I would guess they occurred in the area bounded by Mira Mesa Blvd, Miramar Road, Camino Ruiz and I-15.

Also don’t forget South Texas where there have been 2 cars set on fire approximately 2 weeks apart. Separate incidents but 2 or more people have been found burned to death in both cars. This happened 30 miles from the border around the Ed Couch area.

I hear from two different families in Idaho they are having problems with illegals.

I still wouldn’t change where I live. I enjoy living in a large city and the good things that are here.
also live being mins. away from the Ocean.

The areas you mentioned, most people who have a clue wouldn’t live in.

Have lived in the heart of the city all my life.
I am near Balboa Park, dozens and dozens of high rise condos around me. Most from $500,000 to 4 million a unit.

There are many dozens of new condo high rises downtown
from 25 to 42 stories high up to 8 million dollars a unit.
Most are bought before they are built.

My son lives in an apartment in the renovated Gaslamp district. He has grown tired of downtown already. He is especially tired of his two room mates who like access to the internet and cable, but don't like to pay their part of the utilities in a timely fashion. The only thing holding him back is just the inertia of having to find a new place and go through the trouble to move his belonging and all the attendant changes to mail and utilities.

I don't miss the ocean at all. I lived continuously in San Diego from 1969 to 2002. I went to the beach 5 times in that whole span of years.

I'm not really impressed at the prices of any real estate in San Diego. I'm a native of San Diego. I wouldn't return at any price. It doesn't impress me one bit.

My mom and sister still live out in Rancho San Diego. When mom passes, the house will be sold. My sister had broached the possibility of buying out my half. She has since decided that isn't what she wants. I suspect she would rather take her proceeds to cover the cost of sending her two kids through UC Davis.
