RUSH: Tony Snow, welcome to the program. How long have you been on hold?
SNOW: I'm doing fine. Good to be here, Rush.
RUSH: Good. How long have you been on hold? I'm sorry I've made you wait.
SNOW: No, I've just been hold. It's just been a matter of seconds.
RUSH: You just got here. Okay, great! Tony, I thought the interim report today -- and I know you're going to be talking about this but -- I thought there's so much good in this, and I spent the first segment of the first hour giving a big shout out to the troops because they deserve it. They're doing yeoman's work. They've only been at full strength for a month over there on the surge, and they need a great shout out. I thought the president was fabulous today. What should everybody know about these benchmarks in this interim report?
SNOW: Well, a couple things. First let me back up. The interim report is the beginning of a new kind of surge and it's a surge of facts, because what's happened with a lot of the war in Iraq, as you know, Rush, is that people get pictures of dead bodies, but they don't get any sense of what's actually going on on the ground -- and today you got a little bit of that in terms of this interim report that says: Even though just a couple of weeks ago, even though when they were writing this report, we were just getting our last forces into place

Great beginning.....
At least they figured out where to go for the media. Tony got killed on Laura Ingrham over the immigration issue. I don’t think he will be back there for awhile.
On the other hand, bill o’reilly was wrong last night saying none of the 18 points was achieved.
On the other hand, we cannot get passports in a month but they can issue nuclear licenses to fake companies.
Who’s government is better?
Iâve been waiting for a passport since May and prolly wonât be here until december - January If then.
His reception on this issue would be different.
O’Reilly was pretty good with the facts before he decided to get greedy and try to do two or three jobs at once — but, since he started his radio show, his grasp of the facts has become worse and worse. Of course, the worst thing is that he refuses to ever admit he’s wrong, so he repeats the misinformation over and over every time he’s questioned about it.
Not sure that description will sit well with a soldier or a marine? ;o)
He got killed on amnesty because he was wrong on the substance and he was saying it wasn’t amnesty. He was treating us like we were children that did not get it and did not understand the bill.
I suspect Laura would have no problem with inviting him back on, or Hannity for that matter, to discuss this issue and I suspect the reception to him wouldn’t be that different then it was on Rush. Again, on THIS issue. If he goes back to peddle amnesty again he’d get the same whiplash and he’d deserve it.
Agreed about learning which media is more important. When Rush’s audience equals that of the three nightly newscasts, and the combination of talk radio and the internet manages to stop Miers, and stop amnesty, I think a little respect for us when we’re united on something is needed. On the war, amnesty and judges the base is (mostly) united. That union can be powerful in helping to deflect withdrawal.
Snow has a job on immigration and Iraq. Neither has anything to do with reality. He deserved to get killed on immigration. He deserves utmost support on this issue. In neither case is Snow being killed or supported, except as a surrogate. That is his job. By the way, he is good at it, perhaps the best we have seen since Nofziger.
Not for me, tony no longer has anything to say that I am interested in listening to. You only get to lie to me once.
very well said.
