Romney won’t win; not because of his Mormonism, but because of his stance in the past on liberal issues, plus there is just something about him..Doesn’t sit right..

Ah, yes. Clara Lou. Leave it to you to put matters on a personal level.

My comparison to Obama with Fred is the reaction to them both...

I don’t dislike Fred, but to make statements like “its his to lose” at this point are just grossly foolish IMHO.

But that's exactly the point that was being made here. The author wasn't making statements about Fred having the best platform or the greatest intellect, he was saying based on people's reactions, it's Fred's race to loose.

I think you're trying to make the wrong point here.

I agree with you. At this point. Fred ... is best choice and can beat Hillary. IMHO that is all that matters.....
BEAT THE DIMS AT ALL COSTS.

You'll have to tell me how The same could be said about any of us--including you is personal. Did you see the word "us" in there? That's not personal. "You" are one of "us," aren't you?

People reacting to an largely unknown and undefined candidate, who is not really saying much but popular rhetoric to the faithful 17 months before an election is not anything meaningful. To say “its his to lose” because hes getting nice crowd response in July is just foolishness IMHO.

This Evangelical Christian says that what Richard Lamb doesn’t know could fill an encylopedia.

Who is Richard Lamb and what does he have to do with this article?

My question was more to Mr. Land. We know who DH is. Why aren’t they getting behind him. Mr. Thompson may be fine but I know little about him. Yeah he’s a “people person” So is Bill Clinton. We should be supporting DH and if everything checks out ok, FT too.

Yep, she could appeal to another demographic as Fred's veep. (although she couldn't promise to deliver a toss-up state)

I see what you’re saying, but I disagree.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this point because the only way to see the difference is when Fred actually declares.

I think you’ll see a big difference. You aren’t so sure, or are at least waiting-and-seeing.

That’s fine. It’s a good cautious point of view. I just don’t happen to share it.

A good prognosticator can consistently predict how elections will go well beforehand.

Any idiot can look at the delegate count after all the primaries and predict the nominee!

Your assessment offers nothing of substance. Frankly it is a cliche at this point. Try to come up with something original.

To: not bad at all

>This Southern Baptist is voting for Fred. My position for Fred has been galvanized as a result of the Duncanites and their constant spewing on the Fred threads.<

Well, I’m not Southern, and I’m not Baptist (But Duncan Hunter is a saved Baptist in good standing.) However, I am a born again Christian, and the burden on my heart is to promote the man that I, after deep study, am convinced would best lead my beloved country according to God’s laws, as our Constitution was written. Dr. Land, himself, said he does not speak for all Evangelicals. He does not speak for me.

If you want to cozy with your Fredhead buddies, just mosey on over to a Hunter thread sometime. :)

“Plus there is just something about him”.

Glad I’m not the only one to see it, don’t know exactly how to describe it, but it makes my neck hairs stand up.

Hey Cindy! My posts on this thread have addressed my position on Richard Land. Is he a maverick in the Southern Baptist Convention?

250 Southern ministers travelled many miles a few months back to hear Duncan Hunter speak at their convention. He was invited by them to speak at no less than six separate church services that weekend after his speech, and a special dinner was given to honor him that weekend.

Rep. Duncan Hunter is a saved Baptist in good standing. Our Republic was built on the solid foundation of Christianity, thus a Christian man should lead us. But his credentials cannot stop there. Experience, (including military), a consistently conservative record, sincerity and a robust demeanor are certainly imperatives for our next president who faces previously untested waters.

There’s nothing original that needs to be said. Thompson has offered nothing but cliche’s and rhetoric, he’s a blank slate that people are hanging their hopes on based on nothing at this point.

Of course you sit in front of a Sean Hannity audience and say “I’ll look at the flat tax” and people are going to cheer.. that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans.

Lack of substance is exactly the point I am making at this point about Thompson, for you to try to lob the critique at me is amusing.

We’ll see how it all goes, but at this point there is a lot of projection going on, and that’s all.
