I want one... I need one... I gotta have it! Would you believe 4 Gibabyte per second broadband? - 1500 simultaneous HDTV connections? It's been done. PING!
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.

You would still have to wait on slow servers.
To: Swordmaker
Indeed. Give me fiber or give me death(ly slow connection speeds)!

A T1 broadband connection for the price of DSL? I don't believe it.

You would still have to wait on slow servers. Not with Torrent. Just download simultaneously from 40,000 other servers.

A T1 broadband connection for the price of DSL? A T1 connection is a snail compared to a jet fighter in comparison to this connection...

Qwest offered my business a T1 for $200 per month a few weeks ago.
I turned them down because their email servers lost about 10% of our emails when I used them.

Would you believe 4 Gibabyte per second broadband? The article says *40* Gigs per second.
I only have a 37 Gig hard drive.
I feel so small...

Oh Swell, but can Sigbritt do the watuzi, the boog-a-loo, can she do the tango, can she grill baby-back ribs?
I mean, come on, just because you got gigabite humongus, doesn't mean you rule the world.
Sheeesh, maybe Sigbritt just wants a better pair of shoes.
Well, God Bless her, whatever floats her boat.

The article says *40* Gigs per second. That's Gigabits per second... divide by 10 to get approximate Gigabytes per second (8 bit word, plus start and stop bits).

They may have meant gigabytes, who knows. Anyway it would be cool to be able to download an entire encylopedia in one second.

No mention how much she's paying for this.
That's it...I declare myself a charity case, so I can have a pipeline like Granny Lothberg!

They may have meant gigabytes, who knows. Connections speeds are always listed in bits per second... not bytes per second.

Meanwhile I plug along with Comcast’s so-called broadband offering, paying over $60/month. It’s a great pity that the US isn’t leading the way in terms of affordable broadband access.
To: expatguy
that her advertised speed - I'll bet she actually gets a lot lower I want to know where she's going to put all those bits and bytes... She'd need a lot of very fast RAM to buffer the bandwidth before storing it...
