Hopefully, this is an urban legend. The don’t think human skin bakes. I think it blisters and melts away.

All done in the name of their god no doubt. Confirms my suspicion of exactly who their god allah really is.

No it’s not. It’s al-Qaida, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they did something like this.

Michael Yon is the one source from Iraq that is believable. So on a short thread of 17 posts before mine, you post you do not believe it or are skeptical three times. Are you as post happy with doubt when the NY Slimes, Newsweek or Compost report falsehoods 50 plus percent of the time?

“Report: Al-Qaida bakes little boys”

My first thoughts are about the monsters that could do this, but then I have to wonder....is this like the incubator story from Kuwait? The people shredders that no one could find? Forgive the grain of salt, but we’ve heard wild tales before that turned out to be less than accurate.

I agree. Similar stories have been reported down through history about the enemy. For instance, those about Iraqi soldier dumping Kuwaiti newborns out of incubators so they could steal the equipment, Germans killing children in Belgium at the start of WWI, etc., and they have almost always been shown to be untrue.

OTOH, the Holocaust and Gulag show that humans are by no means incapable of plumbing such depths of evil.

I would not be a bit surprised if Al Quaeda was definitively proven to be doing such things. Their documented barbarity means it isn’t such a huge stretch.

But I’d like to see some proof.

It's a plain fact that these people are capable of unspeakable atrocities.

You are right on that point.

On a side note, after GW I, I attended a desalination conference in DC. The guest speaker was the Kuwaiti Minister of Water, whose speech to us was quite moving. I still have a copy of the book of photographs that gave testament to what these people are capable of.

This story, though I agree with you, I will remain skeptical until more information is available.

I read Michael Yon’s original report about this. Unfortunately, I read it right after dinner.....and lost it. As for the MSM not reporting, I’m pretty sure I heard it yesterday, on John Gibson’s show, I think. Hectic day yesterday and I cannot source it, but I did hear it somewhere. Also, Rush Limbaugh discussed it earlier in the week.

Just no outrage nor follow-up anywhere.

Perhaps if we gave the terrorists hugs and understanding, they would return it in kind. /s

If anyone cooked any of my children and showed them to me, there would be a fight to the death on the spot.

But what if you were offered them on a plate and invited to dine. Then would you reconsider ?

Michael Yon says in the article that it may be urban legend. Some horrors are difficult for the mind to accept. I believe al Qaeda is capable of anything, but I hope and pray it’s urban legend.

I posted an article last week on TM about several incidents including a 2 month-old child placed on a bed of rice and given back to the parents.

Jihad, another day.

Michael Yon

"The recent stories of baked children came to mind. I asked if Abu Ali had heard about children being baked. Ali said no, he had not heard such a story, but he would not be surprised if it were true because al Qaeda had done so many crimes, such as cutting off a man’s head, putting it up on a stick and parading it around town."

Michael is much respected for his reporting on the war. I just did a quick search and found this...it may not be the complete story.

Just no outrage nor follow-up anywhere.

Well, if someon spit on the Koran, it would be all over the DBM, wouldn't it. I wish someone would bake a bunch of THEM and serve them up for dinner..I'd bring my knife and fork!

To be honest, Michael Yon has not reported that this occured - but that an Iraqi told him through an interpreter that it had occured.

The original and follow-up stories have both been posted on FR in the last week.

Thanks for the ping. Unfortunately this does not surprise me. Disgust, yes. We know from past atrocities, that man has committed, that anything is possible. We also know that muslim terrorists have and will show no decency or conscience. And some folks still insist upon calling it a “religion of peace”.
