I certainly don’t see why. The Izzies are more than capable of taking care the Syrians. I do think, however, that our Air Force and Naval aviators would relish the opportunity for target practice.
We and the Brits don’t have enough manpower in theater to invade Syria and defend Iraq from opportunistic Iranians and Sunni militants.
The Syrians attack Israel, let the Israelis take care of it, no need for us to get involved. Now I guess we do owe the Syrians for letting so many foreign jihadis get in Iraq, but we’d be better served by letting the Israelis invade Syria. We can be the anvil if necessary.
Course, I still don’t think any state is going to attempt anything. At most, Hezbollah might try something. Alternatively, one of the various Pali groups might step up suicide bombings and rocket attacks prompting the Izzies to move into the West Bank and Gaza. Anticipation of Israel movements might be a reason for the harvest and fallow fields.
1. There were no people visible working the in the fields. 2. There were no children along the side of the road.
3. There were no tractors or other farm vehicles anywhere to be seen.
4. All of the vegetables had been completely harvested and the fields were 100% empty.
The harvest is over. Why would anybody be in an empty field?
Sounds like tinfoil alert to me...
IIRC, Damascus is in artillery range of the Golan Heights. Should make for much fun.
.....We and the Brits dont have enough manpower in theater to invade Syria .....
Let’s think on that. How many troops and tanks does Syria have to defend on two fronts?
I would argue they don’t have that many and the force guarding the Iraqi border is small enough to be vertically enveloped and eliminated. The back door to Damascus would be open. The war would last 4 days.
