Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is threatening legal action against the makers of energy drink Mijovi -- because he thinks the beverage bears too much similarity to his own name.
Marcos Carrington launched the coffee-based product in 2004 and claims he was inspired to name the drink Mijovi after his girlfriend Jovita.
But the singer is demanding Carrington change the product label -- which is also marketed using the slogans "itsmijovi" and "itsmilife" -- or face a court battle.
In a recent letter to Carrington, Bon Jovi's lawyer Peter Laird says, "As you should be aware, one of Bon Jovi's most popular songs is entitled "It's My Life."
"We hereby demand that you immediately cease and desist all further use of the name Mijovi and 'It's My Life.'"

Because the “Bon Jovi” brand carries such a wealth of value right now. Sheesh.
Bon Jovi is not a one hit wonder. Say what you want about their music, but “one hit wonder” is not accurate.

Bon Jovi doesn’t do rap. He’s recently been very successful crossing over into the country music scene.
You’ve never heard any of these?
Runaway
Livin On A Prayer
(You Give Love a) Bad Name
Lost Highway
Its My Life
I Love This Town
Who Says You Cant Go Home
Bad Medicine
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Kind of like Spike lee = Spike T.V......Conceited bunch of Morons.
Richie Sambora was married to Heather Locklear.
BJ is what he is, BJ is what he gives.
His "wife" must have dyed his hair for him and must have pierced his ears too. Gay all the way
How about Mojave? That’s also very similar...
What’s this guy’s problem? I’ve been staring at Mijovi for 5 minutes now and for the life of me I can’t find the word loser.
yes, and it's my favorite version of the song... didn't Gwen Stefanie also do the song?
Are you kidding. Bon Jovi has always been a consistent hit-maker. Plus he and the band are still intact. He didn't throw his life away to booze and drugs. The man's happily married and his music is still popular.
Some of the comments on this thread about him are disgraceful, though I'll probably agree that he's a little over the top in this instance.
You don’t know what you’re talking about. John is not gay. He is a family man. I think he has something like 4 or five children. He came from a blue collar family. I think his mom was a Marine and then worked as a Bunny up in the Poconos for a while.
In my eyes, his only unappealing quality is his support of the ‘Rats, but overall, he’s a pretty grounded guy.
i saw a video of his recent song—something like “Make a Memory”—just yesterday, on CMT... which i do not normally watch...
Bon Jovi would make an arrow look crooked. The man's happily married. Why do FReepers always jerk their knees out of socket when celebrities are the topic. Some of these guys are more wholesome than the people posting.
