Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is threatening legal action against the makers of energy drink Mijovi -- because he thinks the beverage bears too much similarity to his own name.
Marcos Carrington launched the coffee-based product in 2004 and claims he was inspired to name the drink Mijovi after his girlfriend Jovita.
But the singer is demanding Carrington change the product label -- which is also marketed using the slogans "itsmijovi" and "itsmilife" -- or face a court battle.
In a recent letter to Carrington, Bon Jovi's lawyer Peter Laird says, "As you should be aware, one of Bon Jovi's most popular songs is entitled "It's My Life."
"We hereby demand that you immediately cease and desist all further use of the name Mijovi and 'It's My Life.'"

How would the conceited, copycat rocker like it--- if Bono demanded that he immediately cease and desist all further use of the name... Bon Jovi?
Bon Jovi SUCKS.
BJ is full of BS. ;)

Just jumped the shark.
good grief -
Get a life.
In two hundred years when people still marvel at Beethoven and Mozart your little ditty, It's My Life. will be long forgotten.
How dumb.
I would think the drink name would help not hurt Bon Jovi.
Isn’t he like decades ago popular.
What is a Bon Jovi?
He’s a pimple on the ass of time. Soon to be forgotten.
Is this his way of escaping obscurity trying to make a comeback? Who really knows who he is in todays market?
Billy Joel did a song, “My Life.” Should Joel threaten to sue over the closeness of name as well?
What a conceited jerk! His real name isn’t even Bon Jovi.
Actually Talk Talk did “It’s My Life” years before Bon Jovi.
By Bon Joke logic. Yes!
Yep. And Talk Talk actually had some talent too.
Just sing. Seriosuly.
(KB runs away from hordes of angry FReepers for encouraging JBJ to sing)
What`s the name of the drink again,
GAYJOVI ?
Has Bon Jovi really had any new music since Atari came out?
Based on your post, it sounds like he has. The last song of his I remember was something like “She’s a little runaway.”
That was back before McDonald’s had value meals even.
And back when I still had a record player in my car.
Damn needle would jump everytime I hit a pothole.
