Some Let Down After Edwards Stop In East Arkansas
KATV ^ | July 21, 2007

Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards included Helena-West Helena in his recent eight-state tour focusing on poverty issues. But local leaders feel somewhat slighted. Mayor James Valley says Edwards' brief visit was disappointing. Valley says he had wanted to hear more about what Edwards envisioned for east Arkansas, and he had hoped to pitch to the former senator from North Carolina reasons why there should be more development in the state's struggling Delta region.

The Reverend Julious McGruder of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church said he was glad to have the chance to see a presidential candidate, but said he thinks Edwards missed an opportunity to learn about the area. McGruder says many of the local leaders felt slighted.

During his visit, Edwards talked with a group of home-health care workers. He offered his support for a hike in the minimum wage, universal health care, and paid leave for workers.

First--do these people actually believe that Edwards has any more chance of being president than they do? Second--Pink Sapphire couldn't care less for your area or state, he just wants the "little people" to put their X on his name in the primary & the general election and keep their opinions to themselves.

I'm going to write to him and tell him I want a free pony.

So lower taxes, tell entrepreneurs to borrow some money, and use it to start businesses. What do you need the help of john edwards for?

I’ll bet that in honor of his poverty tour he left a 10 cent tip for the waitress at Mabel’s Diner on Main Street.

Boo hoo. These welfare-staters need to grow up and understand that he’s just looking for votes, not interested in their problems. Welcome to the real world, chumps.

Uncle Sugar be needin’ to hep us and stuff, see what I’m sayin’?

It’s sad that a good percentage of the people in this country look to government, rather than themselves or their friends & families. Ever notice that many Asian, Indian and European immigrants to America don’t go work for someone else; they start up a business (usually with the help of their family)? Why don’t urban minorities and rural folks do the same?

Its the John Edwards “Waisting My Time Tour 2007.”

You would think that 2004 would have cured him of any further desire to make a fool of himself but I guess not.

Commie Democrats are still politickin’ in the Black churches. How in the hell do they get away with that?
Paging Barry Lynn! Paging the Americans United for Separation of Church and State!
I hear crickets . . .

Election laws only apply to conservatives. Ask the caught-on-tape felon junior senator from New York, she’ll tell you...

Because the blacks who still vote for the leftist bastards, are dumber than snot....and on the dole.

Mrs. Edwards may be hurting her hubby with all this talk about what a big, strong, manly man he is. Imagine listening to Elizabeth’s description of Silky Pony on TV, and then going to see him at a live appearance. It’s gotta be a letdown when you expect Clint Eastwood and get Pee Wee Herman.

He's probably figured out how to profit by the process of running. He'll stay in long enough to get federal matching funds and siphon off a bunch of dough somehow then drop out.

Helena’s not doing too bad last time I drove through it.

Most likely, to see real poverty you have to go to another continent.

Anyone expecting leadership or heavy lifting from the Edwards campaign — will have to contact MRS. Edwards, who possesses all the fire in the belly and manhood in that family...

John Edwards has nothing going for him but the ability to channel dead children to brain dead Jurors, and grow hair...

Very true.

Kerry made out like a bandit and Pat Buchanan virtually invented the for profit presidential campaign.

Ha ha ha ha. Edwards only wants to hear about areas that he can exploit, like New Orleans.
