Given that Michigan is running a one state recession it makes no sense that the feds would relocate these people here. But then, this IS the federal government.

I just want the people responsible for all this to have to know what it is like for the rest of the US.
They make these deals from somewhere afar and forget about it, after dumping the problem on others.

They're not necessarily Muslims. Many of the Iraqi refugees are Chaldean Catholics fleeing religious persecution (as are many of the Iraqis in that part of Michigan, in Warren and Southfield).
Our unemployment rate is already too high.
Mr. Steenburgh should look as the transplants not as a burden from the government, but as Jenny’s personal gift to the cities of Warren and Sterling Heights. ;)
Makes no sense that some farm and business groups are running a spanish language “Come to Michigan” campaign either but they’re doing it.
SE Michigan is already over-run with them, it’s not just Dearborn.
Published reports have said that 7,000, maybe 25,000, and possibly up to 100,000 Iraqis will be resetted from the current Iraqi War in the coming months.
I caught one tv news report last evening. It was saying that the US State Department couldn’t hire enough Iraqis in Iraq because they had previously been promised visas to resettle in the US as a reward for working for/with the US. When the State Department quit offering visas to resettle in the US, Iraqis quit applying for US government related jobs in Iraq.

It's just unbelievable what jorge bush has done to this country. We have people dying to make Iraq a safe place to live, the state department tell people that should invest in their own country that we'll take you out of this hell hole and send you to America.
