Have you actually read ANY of the press on this? Seen either of the designs? Checked out the statements by the architect?
Rawls gave Kirk Swauger of the Johnstown Tribune Democrat the address of an Islamic website Islam.com that has a Mecca direction calculator.
"While I was on the phone with him, Kirk set the calculator to Somerset, Pa., 10 miles from the crash site, and clicked the 'view qibla direction' button. When he placed the resulting Mecca-direction graphic over the original Crescent of Embrace site plan, Kirk said to me: 'Yup. It points to Mecca.'"
Another feature, he says, is a separate section of the wall centered exactly on the bisector of the giant crescent that is in the exact position of the star on an Islamic flag.
He says there also are 44 inscribed glass blocks placed along the path that Flight 93 followed to the ground, matching the number of passengers, crew and terrorists.
Yup, it's all paranoid racisism...

That image is an artist's rendition; I seriously doubt it will be painted red.The memorial website says those are trees in "fall color".

I propose that all toilets, public or private, be built to point towards Mecca..

It doesn’t help. They must have a web designer that knows what he is doing.

I don’t care if WND reported it or not; it looks like a crescent. Never heard of this memorial until now. As far as Nazi buildings, how about the Imperial Palace, if it still exist, in Las Vegas. That was purposely done.

Whatever the motivation for this design, be it epic stupidity or epic self-loathing, it should have been rejected long ago. The people responsible for designing this thing, approving it, and then seeing it implemented are despicable.

I guess we hurt their feelings...WND is now
excerpt only, per Jim Robinson.

Not if the demoncrats have anything to say about it! They were or are trying to make a issue with people calling in on people who look suspicious like the flying imams. In other words people who call in with just a suspicion could be open to a lawsuit for profiling.

The red part of the artist’s rendition was to be formed by some variety of trees that has red foliage. Still, one has to wonder at the symbolism of the red crescent.
I’m not sure if this is still part of the design.

The Swastika was on the shoulder patch for the New Mexico National Guard until 1940.
It is a ‘good things upon you' sign for several SW tribes, primarily the Navajo.

The nutcases are the clueless PC-worshipers who criticize objections to even a suggestion of anything islamic in a memorial to islamic mass murder.

This was the topic of many threads years ago.So what?
Does that make concern over its appearance any less relevant today?

No one ever claimed that the worship of PC and symbolism is ever consistent or rational.
