The planned crescent-shaped "memorial to heroes" of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania is nothing less than a huge outdoor mosque that pays homage to Islam, charges the author of a new book.
The primary feature, he says, is the giant central crescent of what originally was called the "Crescent of Embrace" design. A person facing into this half-mile wide crescent still present in the superficially altered "Bowl of Embrace" redesign will be oriented almost exactly at Mecca.

This is an old story. But noone’s making enough effort to stop it.
I want to visit (and I can, easily) before they ruin this place.
PC?
I guess if you look at it, forget the fact that it’s merely 3/4’s of a circle and use a wireframe model, yeah, it could look like a crescent. Unfortunately, it’s close to lunch, and if I try hard, all I see is a red croissant roll.
I heard they were changing this design because of all the negative feedback. Not so?
Its a memorial for the good islamofacists who killed innocent Americans in the name of allah. But of Course!!!
Has this thing already been erected?? If not better stop this idiotic “artists conception” of a memorial.
I think Crosses, Stars and American flags would be a more fitting tribute to those who were murdered.
It reminds me of this building in the shape of a swastika found with Google maps— Like no one knew what was going on... right..
American traitors: "Please, please, hit our people yet again."
I’m pretty sure they redesigned that due to the public outcry. I haven’t seen the updated overhead pic though.
You are very late to this story. First, the design was not intended to be an Islamic crescent, but a semi-circle of red maples, like metaphorical arms protecting the crash site. Second, the design was changed a year or more ago precisely because nut cases like the folks over at WND made a stink about the original design.
That building's on the Naval Base, isn't it?
Yeah I understand it’s where the Seals train
This Just proves that what some people interpret as an artist conception of a memorial is also interpreted as crapola by others.
Anything that diminishes the scope of the tragedy in the minds of people is not a worthy memorial. The people spoke.
An artist was offended. So what?
I used to like WND, but lately their credibility is in the toilet and heading towards the sewer.
This was the topic of many threads years ago.
The thing that irks me most about WND is the fact that they have the image of being a Christian site, but then they hawk books left and right, and have adverts for all sorts of goofy health products. Pick a personality and stick with it, you know? Are you Christians or snake-oil salesmen?
You know, the “bowl” of love or whatever, is still creepy.
It is very possible to be both.
