"EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A Southern Illinois University student was arrested after authorities say he threatened a "murderous rampage'' similar to the Virginia Tech shootings that left 32 people and the gunman dead.
A gun dealer had alerted federal authorities about the man, saying he had seemed overly anxious to get a shipment of semiautomatic weapons, according to an affidavit filed in court by a police detective.
Olutosin Oduwole was charged Tuesday with attempting to make a terrorist threat, a felony. He remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of $1 million bail."

I remember a similar incident way back in 1968, just before that travesty, the 1968 Gun Control act was made into law.
A man ordered a high powered weapon from a gun shop. The owner notified the feds who told him to make the purchase and they would arrest the buyer when he picked up the weapon.
When the buyer (and feds) was notified the weapon was in, instead of coming down to pick it up, he and his gang broke into the gunshop that night, stole the weapon and blasted their way into a bank vault.
The gun shop owner went through hell as the news media portrayed him as the cause of the whole debaucle and proof why “stronger” gun laws were needed.
Can't be true, everybody knows gun dealers are just out to make a quick buck and don't care who they sell to. At least that what the anti gun nuts say.

What constitutes "attempting to make a terrorist threat?" Maybe lack of communication skills? Didn't put enough postage on the letter? Sounds as if the guy was really making terrorist threats, not just attempting to.
