Why didn't the Attorney General charge Mayor Nagin with negligent homicide? There was a plan in place to "use public buses, including school buses, to evacuate those who don't have private transportation." The Mayor skedaddled to Baton Rouge. The bus drivers skedaddled to wherever. The buses were submerged in water in their parking lots. And thousands of citizens drowned as a result.

Sure sounds like a few cases of negligent homicide to this country lawyer.

The New Orleans district attorney's office had argued that Pou and her colleagues killed the patients with a "lethal cocktail" of narcotics and tranquilizers -- despite the fact that no toxicology results from the patients' bodies indicated their deaths had been homicides.

Without help coming to evacuate, no or limited electric, and VERY sick needy patients, what would have been the alternative? This doctor stayed at the hospital, which means leaving their own families, to administer aid to the patients under their care. It is easy to look at this situation from the comfort of your air conditioned home and judge the doctor but....what would you have done?

And the slippery slope gets a little slicker.

Yes and in the future some loving, caring nurse's aide who doesn't want a patient to suffer will administer a 'potentially' lethal dose of morphine OR absent the nurse's aide, maybe a caring janitor who flunked out of pre-med.

He ducked this court but there’s another court to be reckoned with. He’ll face his judgement.

Another account of a Mayor and Governor who didn’t and don’t know diddlie squat about governoring or leading. Both incompenitents, and they’ll probably be reelected. Blows one’s mind.

She may have gotten away with murder, but she’ll be found liable in civil court, just like O.J.

What’s wrong with all of you FreeRepublicers? Of course she’s not guilty of anything - it’s all President Bush’s fault.

No Charges for Hurricane Katrina Doctor Accused of Murdering Patients

Well.....I don't think he should charge for murdering patients.

So I have to assume you were on the grand jury and heard all the facts? Or maybe you were there at the hospital, working in 100 degree heat and 90 percent humidity? Perhaps you were a doctor there and knew the history of these patients and the protocol for treating them?

I’m still curious as to how you know more than the grand jurors who sat through all the evidence. Could you enlighten us?

I’ve posted this before, but since the story is back in the immediate news, here it is again for anyone interested in what went on at the hospital at that time.

Read about it under the heading For Dear Life.
