Cynthia McKinney Makes Green Party Overtures (McKinney-Nader 2008 ticket?)

APN) ATLANTA – "Run, Cynthia run!" chanted enthusiastic Green Party members and leaders at the Green Party National Meeting for 2007 in Reading, Pennsylvania, on July 15, 2007, according to video footage obtained by Atlanta Progressive News.

"If not us, who? If not now, when?" asked one Green Party activist in attendance after a screening of the movie American Blackout.

"It is us and the time is now," former US Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) replied.

How would progressive Democrats in Congress respond to a McKinney-Nader 2008 ticket, another attendee asked.

"That would have a potential of shaking up a whole lot, a lot... I’m ready to join with folks who are ready to ratchet it up a little bit more. Let’s shake it up!" McKinney said.

"I think we need a slate of fresh faces to run and win at all levels and then you’re really talking about some change," McKinney said.

"The situation in Black America is desperate. The political equation has not addressed the real quality of life issues in Black America."

"That’s where you guys come in. Change the very calculus," McKinney told Green members.

"Your platform, your ideals, address those very... quality of life issues... but who knows it in Black America? So we have a lot of work to do just even get the message out," McKinney said.

"It is not acceptable for us to have business as usual anymore... And so, I know you guys are already the choir. So we just got to put me in choir books. Give me a sheet of music so I can sing the song too," McKinney ended her remarks.

McKinney has not yet announced any official candidacy for the Green nomination for US President or any other nomination at this time.

I’m sure that Hillary is calling all of her forces together to find a way to stop this threat. Maybe they can find something about them that voters will not like. You think?

McKinney never mentioned anything about the environment. Isn’t that the main focus of the GREEN Party?

It just keeps getting better and better doesn’t it?

The dream team.

If only we could get Kookyspinich, Murtha, Boxer, Reid and Sheehan in the mix, it would be complete.

Are any of the so called Democrats even remotely embarrassed by their compatriots? Or do they even begin to understand how totally disconnected from reality they are?

“Change the very calculus”

?????? I looked up the definition of calculus to see if there was another definition I didn’t know about. There was not.

“The situation in Black America is desperate.”

Rubbish. More government and charitable money is spent on Black America than any other segment of the population.

Nader sure helped Bush against Gore. Nader should be stronger this time, all the unhealthy Chinese imports should be an issue he could exploit.

“Every vote they get will come directly from the Dems.”

Yep, that’s why I love it when Nadar runs. The numbers he gets are not huge, but they are big enough to make him a spoiler. And it is fun to see how much he pisses the dems off.

"“The situation in Black America is desperate.”

What is the situation in Black Africa -- are they desperate?
Blacks in Zimbabwe have it better?
Blacks in South Africa have it better?
Blacks in Darfur, Sudan have it better?
Blacks in Somalia have it better?
Blacks in Uganda have it better?
Blacks in Nigeria have it better?

Hell - where in the world do blacks enjoy the standard of living equal to that GIVEN in welfare to non-working blacks in America?

Cynthia McKinney took her name out of the Running according to the AJC today, sept 12. She has done this before, when she lost her congressional seat last time, she floated she would seek the high office. She pulled out and any money raised went toward her congressional run. Notice she only gets elected every 4 year? Most of her contributions come from Extremists as reported elsewhere on FR. She was actually considering running under the GREEN party banner.. are you kidding me???
