WASHINGTON Former Sen. Fred Thompson, a Republican presidential candidate in waiting, candidly answered a question at a campaign stop in Texas yesterday regarding his membership in the Council on Foreign Relations, sometimes referred to as a "shadow government" organization of elites with a global agenda.
In an exchange caught on YouTube that later deteriorated into a police encounter, an activist asked Thompson about his membership in the group, linking it with plans for a "North American Union."

Thompson does the dipsy-doodle sidestep and the Freddiebots buy his non-explanation.
This guy continues to seem shallow. He continues to talk around hard questions, rather than giving direct answers.
I don't buy his response that he doesn't know what the NAU is.

Please!!! This woman, kook or not; I don't know, did nothing even close to yelling "fire" in a theatre.
Read the first two words of your tagline. I assume that includes supporting a person's Constitutional rights.
I'm amazed at the fascist statements made on this website that I've been a part of and loved for years. What is wrong with you people wanting to silence Americans who might disagree with, and be a little rude to, our favorite candidate. You're scaring the heck out of me.

They dragged her out because she was unruly and crazy and probably needed a straightjacket. That's pretty much the same rationale that Senator Cornpone used when he hep'd his pal Johnny McCain to pass McCain-Feingold. The American people are unruly, foolish, and dangerous when it comes to expressing political opinions near election time and have to be gagged.
It's for our own good, you know.
He and Hillary agree on more means and reasons than any other two candidates that want to exercise supreme power over the American people.

Conspiracy theory wackos need to invest in more tinfoil. Their brainwaves are being manipulated.
But, Mr. Robinson, they still have the right to speak in this great country of ours. Read your tagline sir.

the Council on Foreign Relations, sometimes referred to as a "shadow government" organization of elites with a global agenda.Heh. It's also "sometimes referred to" as a front organization for the Freemasons, the Bilderbergers, the Vatican, the Jews, or the Grays. My God! Fred is an alien!
As Yoda would say, a f'n break give me.

Oh jeez - - I thought somebody asked Thompson about CFR (Campaign Finance Reform). Me too. One of the many bonehead bills from the Bush era. Thompson supported it, correct?

Apparently you did not watch the video. She was no more unruly than the liberal reporters at the President's news conferences. Fred is going to have to confront worse than this once he really gets in to the race. Time to "man up" Fred.

“All of these candidates are a part of the Council on Foreign Relations: Fred Thompson Rudy Giuliani John McCain Mitt Romney Jim Gilmore Hillary Clinton Barack Obama John Edwards Joe Biden Chris Dodd Bill Richardson Keep in mind, however, these individuals are not members of the NAU task force.”
No CFRer will ever be getting my vote again. And if you’ve got a link that shows none of them are members of the NAU task force please provide it, because to date, I don’t believe that CFR has revealed any list of the members of the NAU task force.

I don’t recall averring CFR as being nefarious. I provided a link to a .pdf from the chairmen, that’s it. I am not sure why you were setting up the straw men for me exactly. I read my post again and I said nothing even lightly critical of CFR. I poked a little fun at the troofers and said CFR was no conspiracy, which I don’t believe it is. I am just a little confused by your post to me, I guess.

I hope to God that it has not gotten to the point that we "real conservatives" suppress the free speech rights of those who disagree with us.
If she was confronting Bill Clinton on this, you'd be singing her praises, and you know I speak the truth.
This is still America, my friend, don't turn Fascist on me.

They can disagree from the opposite side of the street. They can disagree in print... or at PUBLIC meeting of their own... or with reporters in a bar across the street... but this was a meeting of a members-only organization and as such... they have the right to remove someone being disruptive of their meeting (FREEDOM OF ASSEMBLY... BILL of RIGHTS etc!
Free speech is not an excuse to commit anarchy as this woman did. I guess you would like to protect the anarchists while they burn cities during certain events such as happened in Seattle a few years ago? It is YOU that needs to STOP trying to suppress OUR Free Speech. Two way street that First Amendment. You have become that which you disdain!

I felt the same way after watching it. The whole incident was disgusting. Who else would have been responsible for dragging her out? I disagree with her on the 9/11 stuff, but she had every right to confront him about CFR and it’s agenda. I’d have done the same thing, given the opportunity.

“I didn’t know they were up to that,” said Thompson.
I disagree with you Jim. He’s clearly uninformed and unprepared, thus the stall tactics and heavy handedness.

Maybe I can help a little.
The idiot Truther woman said that he was part of [and I quote] “the same group that’s forming the NAU with Mexico and Canada.”
Thompson responded to her with “I didn’t know they were up to that” because her comment was ridiculous because it isn’t CFR who’s doing the forming—it’s Bush and our elected officials.
