The bar sign targets welfare recipients.

Some folks are offended because they equate “welfare recipient” with “black.”

There are racist assumptions, all right, but they aren’t on the part of the bar owner.

That said, I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that a biker bar in rural Texas doesn’t turn away customers who are on public assistance. Their money still spends.

"If you can't feed em...don't breed em"? "...It should be the guide of people everywhere from Idaho to Bangladesh...."

"Welfare started as a hand-up, not a generational life-style"? "...Yes? And your problem is exactly...what?"

"We support our troops, not criminals or illegals?" "...Would you rather it said "We support criminals or illegals, but not our troops"? As Bob Hope would have said..."What do you think we are? Democrats?"..."

"We speak only English here"? "...And you think this is a bad or racist thing?...This is a BAR, not a HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM!"

There is a gas station in Sussex NJ that does the same thing. The last sign that I remember said” “Since when is discipline child abuse?”.
