At least one person is dead and 45 injured in a Greyhound bus accident outside Montgomery Alabama this morning. So far no word on what caused the accident.

“Fatal crash: Bus, SUV collide on I-65”

A Greyhound bus and an SUV collided sometime around 2 a.m. Friday on southbound Interstate 65, just north of the Hope Hull exit, killing at least one person, according to Capt. Huey Thornton of the Montgomery Police
Department.
"Is anyone hurt on that bus?" asked an officer at the scene.
"Yes," came the reply.
Moments later, an officer told a person in the bus, "Listen, we've got the fire department in route ... They're going to pry these doors open."
A police radio at the scene blared that there were "10 to 15 minor injuries at this time." It also said that there was entrapment in the SUV

Fatal Bus Crash on I-65
July 27, 2007 07:38 AM EDTWSFA is on the scene of a deadly accident on Interstate 65 this morning. Police say a Chevy Trailblazer was travelling the wrong way on the interstate when it crashed head-on into a Greyhound bus near the Hope Hull exit around 2:19 a.m.
The bus was headed to Mobile when it crashed. 52 people were on the bus, and 36 of them were taken to Baptist South Hospital.
I-65 south and north bound were closed north of the Hyundai Boulevard due to the accident, but now officials say the north bound lanes are back open and moving smoothly, and south bound lanes will be open shortly. Stay tuned to WSFA and here on WSFA.com for the very latest updates.

MONTGOMERY (AP) —
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Capt. Huey Thornton said the SUV driver, identified as Joseph Rudder, 45, of Hope Hull, was alone in the vehicle and died at the hospital about an hour after the collision.
Thornton said it occurred shortly after police were dispatched at 2:16 a.m. to pursue a vehicle going the wrong way on Interstate 65 near the Hope Hull exit.
He said it was not immediately known why Rudder was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of the interstate.”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The accident marked the second time in four months that a Greyhound bus has collided head-on with a vehicle going the wrong way on an interstate highway in Montgomery during early morning hours. On March 31, a car headed the wrong way on Interstate 85 collided with a Greyhound about 3 a.m., killing the car’s driver and sending 20 people to the hospital with injuries, none critical.”
