"Impossible," said Shirley Goldberg, an 82-year-old Democrat who lives in Delray Beach. "I registered and voted in New York when I lived there. But I've been here for the last 12 years. I haven't voted in New York since."

Hey, Shirley! If it wasn't you voting in N.Y., there's some nice Democrat back there voting for you. Not to worry, he's voting a straight Democrat ticket for you.

YES, YES, YES...

I have been with large numbers of persons in South Florida who brag about voting twice....their reason is they pay taxes in two places so deserve to vote too (two)!

If they say they are not aware of it in the past...THEY LIE!!

It was reported and the names given too...several years ago! Nothing happened!

BTW, I did report this to the District ATTY's office (Travis county - and you know that means ronnie earle, so that is orifice) that those snowbirds were bragging about voting straight D tickets in two states. I never even got any feedback about the incident.

I am glad to know it was not just me.

I sat at a table of maybe 25 people who live in Palm Beach County...they brag about it and tell of all the others who do it too.

I think the reason they can do it is because they moved to FL long before the computers checked or other states had to be notified of a new registration. They are home in the summer so still claim residence since NY has no homestead tax benefit and Fl does have it. Absentee voting makes this easier for them too. These are OLD people...approaching 80 now? LOL

I think it may be time for a national voter ID card. You can only vote once in national elections. End of conversation. Now local elections, i.e., state, county, city, school district, that should depend only if you pay taxes in said area.

Maybe...but even a photo ID card can be altered. Would it just become another Social Security Number that other people and businesses or banks would demand to know?

I can not believe that the current motor voter registrations with “on my honor” I am a citizen will ever be purged of all the illegal registrants. Actually I think they will begin to use the voting record to prove they are legal...?

Wipe the slate clean and ask for the birth certificates and other documents that were needed in the past. There may be no other way and politicians will be too frightened to do this. NO HOPE?

The libs will say that this is just like a poll tax. Women and minorities hardest hit. I can hear the same old whining by the democrats.

I think they are expecting a problem and are concentrating on winning Florida! Illegal votes and all.
