LONDON, July 28 (UPI) -- British viewers' trust in the BBC has plummeted in the wake of scandals, a new survey found.

Nearly 60 percent of viewers polled said they trust the corporation less than they did before two widely-publicized recent scandals, The Guardian reported Saturday.

First, it was revealed that phone calls to a call-in competition were faked. Then an on-air promotion for a television special about Queen Elizabeth II was edited to give viewers the erroneous impression that the queen stormed out of a photo shoot.

e intuitively understood that if you simply tell a lie, people who know (or find out) the truth will easily reject it. But if you tell a huge, enormous lie that is blatantly false, and repeat it over and over, people eventually will question their own ability to properly process the information, and they will come to believe it. In fact, as the lie continues to be repeated and reinforced they will believe it with great force -- even when subsequently confronted with indisputable facts to the contrary. And as more people around them believe it, it becomes even more entrenched inside them (and also more difficult to resist the urge to conform).

which brings another point

if 60% + does not belive the printed news

and only 22% of masses listens to tv for something other then idol worship

why is it that whats shown in media matter at all during the conduct of the warfare activities

no one is paying attention just win

I have a feeling the memos that leaked out about their boardmeeting discussing their obvious liberal bias didn’t help them that much, either.

Just saying...

Don’t forget about the other “snafu” where a BBC report on PM Brown put two events together and made them appear as if they happened in close succession when the events were actually three weeks apart. The result was a report that made PM Brown and his staff to be acting heavy-handed when that was not the case. I have not great admiration for PM Brown, but sheesh, this is more than just getting the facts straight, this is outright fabrication. Fabrication played a part in the phoney phone calls and the reversed sequence of the Queen/Liebowitz photography story as well.

UnBeebeivable.

Ha..lol..But would the public consider that bad because a) they're biased, or b)they spilled the beans (about their bias), or c)both of the above??

What’s going to eventually happen is that the media will keep getting caught faking things, like TANG, TNR, etc. but we’ll just get immune to it after awhile. Then they’ll do it more blatantly and not fear getting caught. Problem is there are still about 150 million retards in this country who will STILL believe the MSM even when told that it’s a lie.

They should be losing faith in pretty much everything over there since they seem to be on the fast track to hell.

They did win big on one thing; however, when they shipped Victoria Beckham here to America. Help us all. Another snippy little “I wuv me so much” empty celebrity.

This is a great example of why governments should not run the media. And if they cannot run the media and keep the public’s faith, why should they run the health care.
