John Edwards Wants Mandatory Health Insurance From Employers

Sunday , July 29, 2007

CANTERBURY, N.H. — Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards says negotiating with insurers and pharmaceutical companies is not the best way to overhaul the health care system.

Those groups will not give up their power voluntarily, the former North Carolina senator said Sunday.

"I've been fighting these people my whole life and have beaten them my whole life," said Edwards, a former trial lawyer. "I think the time to talk to them is after you've beaten them."

[He] would pay for the $90 to $120 billion a year plan by repealing President Bush's tax cuts for people who make more than $200,000 a year.

!@#$% a-hole!

I’ve always wondered what it was like to want.

Yes, let’s just further tilt the playing field between domestic and foreign labor costs.

Edwards is to stupid what Hillary is to evil.

What if we in the Dreaded Private Sector stopped making medicines or offering indemnification against illness? What are you going to do, Hair Boy? Force us to create services for you? I'd rather eat a bullet than work for a trial lawyer.

Damn sounds like the Soviet Union

I've often thought we are currently living in some funhouse-mirror-image of the Soviet Union. We don't have all the same features, but the people are mostly socialist and the government keeps expanding its power over every aspect of life.

I wonder how much investment Edwards has in the Insurance and health care systems. Wouldn’t you want to force every employer to provide healthcare for your dividend?

"I think the time to talk to them is after you've beaten them."

And would you apply this strategy to Islamic terrorists, John? I thought not...

Sure, why not? That will be a cost to the businesses. They can simply eliminate this cost by passing it onto the consumer in the form of higher prices or better yet lay off people! What a great idea Breck girl!

The past couple of years I've taken a little pride in the fact that, in our little IT company, for every offshore resource we bring onboard we tend to hire an onshore person as well.

That would just not be possible in Edwards' scenario.

Must be great to be a liberal and not have to worry about the media bringing up the fact that “people who make more than $200,000 a year” include small businesses.

So what John “Girlyman” Edwards is advocating is 1) raising taxes on small businesses and 2) demanding that they pay for the insurance of all of their employees.

Now, if I’m an owner of a small business, the first thing I’m going to do (after cursing John Edwards to the moon) is to fire or lay-off some employees. And probably cut some others’ pay, of course.

And you can forget about expanding my business anytime soon.

I cannot believe the enormous pass the Rats get from the media. These lunatics are beyond believeable. And then they want to legalize 20-50-million illegal immigrants and then tax people who are actually good at making money.

Really, how much sense does it make to steal money from those who are good at making money and throwing it at those who can’t even manage to balance a checkbook?

A health-care plan from a $¢umbag malpractice attorney who bankrupted health-care providers to make millions!

One question: Under his plan, how many billions will be set aside for attorney fees for malpractice frauds like him?

Mr. Edwards isn’t a real candidate, neither is Mr. Obama.

Both are feigning aggressive stupidity to make the 2008 Democrat nominee, Mrs. Clinton, look like a “moderate” or even “conservative”(sic), relatively speaking.

You can enjoy ,or be irritated, by the show. But please remember this is not a real process that these folks are working through.

This sounds stupider and stupider, every time I read it.

I don’t get it, Edwards wants to punish the health insurance industry by providing them with tens of millions of new customers?

Doesn’t make a lick of sense.

I work for a well known Fortune 500 company that has a large force of “temporary workers”....who get no benefits and have to leave for 3 months after working 12 months. The 3 months off is so the company can avoid the problems Microsoft had with it’s “non-employee” employees.
Edwards feeble pronouncements are just to get him some badly needed attention because in the real world they’d have a negative effect on his constituents if they had any affect at all.

I cannot believe the enormous pass the Rats get from the media.

The press is made up of stupid people. Not only are they stupid, but they are driven by emotion and that leads them to be socialist as well.

...how much sense does it make to steal money from those who are good at making money and throwing it at those who can’t even manage to balance a checkbook?

It does not matter. They see wealth redistribution schemes as a way to gain power over everyone's lives. They think they know better how to live your life than you do. They are evil. They should be stopped, but too many people are allowed to vote, and they vote based on appeals to their less-than-noble natures.

Let me see if I understand this right, Breck Dude, if we force every employer to pay for insurance, the insurance carriers will be beaten? By what?

Oh COME ON! He hasn't done that in years. I was just a youthful indiscretion!

BTW...I love your use of the money symbols.
