Agree,I think he’s kissing up to Hillary. Edelman(sp?) was right in his reply about what Hillary said.

You need to read the entire article.

“They are starting to think in that direction,” he said. “The Soviet scenario could certainly happen but what really worries me is the example of Vietnam.”

"When America lost the will to sustain the South Vietnamese regime, Congress cut off the funding for the war and the South Vietnamese army collapsed."

“I can see that happening to the Iraqi army if this Congress says we’re going to pull out our troops and not support the Iraqis. There would be a political collapse and the very real potential of helicopters on the roofs.”

“They have learned nothing from history.”

I’m not too sure of that. They learned that they can do it and get by with it. Many people soon forget and with the young people that weren’t around during the “redeployment” (such as stupid term for retreat)they feel perfectly safe in doing the same thing in Iraq.

Precisely, and the MSM didn't fuss a bit about Edelman because his was the winning argument.

"Don’t we want them here to guard against terrorists bringing a nuclear weapon across the unguarded borders?"

They would be safer here for a short while. But it makes no difference for the near future as to whether our military forces are here or in Iraq and Afghanistan. And we don't need to put more unarmed soldiers under the command of civilian police on our borders.

Either way, Iran will build nuclear weapons and distribute those to other regimes like Syria and Sudan while solidifying alliances with other enemies of our nation and further infiltrating our nation with cells.

The chickens will come home to roost. Having tried for years to inform others here and rouse support for taking down the military forces of the real problem nation (Iran), I'll just sit back and watch the coming scenario unfold. It will be like watching a bout between the Dukes of Hazzard and a group of professional fighters. ...liberaltarian rednecks, municipal police and mafia meet guerrilla insurgents. ...ever met a guerrilla combat soldier? Watching them (or any combat soldier) move around tends to make an impression. They can run up on armed rubes (urban or rural) and hit them with rocks.

If confronted by several bullies, inaction is unwise. It is also unwise to hit one of the smaller bullies, while the attention of the largest is focused on us. It is most unwise to entice bullies to one's own house.

"It is beyond my comprehension why the withdrawal freaks, both civilian and in government cannot see the immediate and ultimate consequences of their stupidity and fear-driven agenda."

Well, it didn't take long to get my question answered. Check this:

The only redeeming reason for us being there and subjecting our troops to the political bullshit that they have to go through, many at the price of their lives, is that we are fighting them over there, not over here.

So why havent we taken out Iran yet?

Beats me.

But if I had to guess I would say it is because of the Demcrat Party and the main stream media.

Both of these will be more than happy to see the United States of America completely destroyed if it would bring down President Bush.

Bush is the most slandered President in history, but he still lost the War by letting the MSM post lies without rebuttal.
The pen is mightier than the sword.
We have won all our military objectives, but they keep moving the bar.
We need to close the terrorist sanctuaries before the elections or there will be a huge GOP defeat.
Hillary wins easy in 08 unless the GOP nominates Ron Paul.
Laugh if you will, but he is the only one who can defeat her, since Condi dropped out.
