Free Our Talib (Los Angeles Time Idiots Want Traitor John Walker Lindh Pardoned) MEGA-BARF ALERT
Los Angeles Times ^ | 07/29/2007 | Los Angeles Times Editorial Board

The concept of mercy spans testaments and faiths, and any system of justice requires the embrace of mercy for leavening and legitimacy. In this case, justice has been served by Lindh's time in prison. Now Bush is uniquely positioned to grant mercy, for while many will long argue over the effectiveness of his war on terror, none question his commitment to it. By giving Lindh a commutation, Bush could prove that his war is, as he often and properly asserts, not against Islam but against those who seek to harm America. Lindh never sought to harm his country; he has served long enough. Bush should send him home.

Liberals pretend (badly) that they “support the troops” but when push comes to shove we constantly see that they care more about anti-American scumbags who stand against the troops.

They wouldn't dare to embrace treason six years ago. Now they're openly identifying with and giving aid and comfort to America's enemies.

I agree with the L.A. Slimes in this case...

John Walker Lindh should be shown mercy and compassion...
The bastard should be shot and put out of his misery and suffering..
His “parents” should be charged for the total cost of his capture, incarceration and execution...

The America hating bastard idolized the Islamanazis, should suffer the same treatment they deal out to its traitors..

Three generations ago, a 20 year prison sentence would never have been consider for lindh.

He would have swung from the end of a rope, stood in front of a firing squad or been summarily executed on the battlefield.

He has received all the mercy he deserves.

From the newspaper “The Age” in Australia:

Freed Guantanamo inmates take up arms
July 28, 2007

LEAST 30 former Guantanamo Bay detainees have been killed or recaptured after taking up arms against allied forces following their release.

They have been discovered mostly in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but not in Iraq, a US Defense Department spokesman told The Age yesterday.

Commander Jeffrey Gordon said the detainees had, while in custody, falsely claimed to be farmers, truck drivers, cooks, small-arms merchants, low-level combatants or had offered other false explanations for being in Afghanistan.

“We are aware of dozens of cases where they have returned to militant activities, participated in anti-US propaganda or engaged in other activities,” said Commander Gordon.

His comments follow the death this week of Taliban commander and former detainee Abdullah Mehsud, who reportedly blew himself up rather than surrender to Pakistani forces. In December 2001, Mehsud was captured in Afghanistan and held at Guantanamo Bay until his release in March 2004. He later became the Taliban chief for South Waziristan.

Commander Gordon said the US did not make it a practice to track detainees after their release, but it had become aware through intelligence gathering and media reports of many cases of released detainees returning to combat.

“These former detainees successfully lied to US officials, sometimes for over three years,” he said. “Common cover stories include going to Afghanistan to buy medicines, to teach the Koran or to find a wife. Many of these stories appear so often, and are subsequently proven false, that we can only conclude that they are part of their terrorist training.”

An analysis of 516 Guantanamo detainees found that while there was no evidence linking six of them to terrorist activities, 95 per cent were a potential threat to US interests. This was based on their affiliations with groups such as al-Qaeda, their enthusiasm for violent jihad, their having undertaken small-arms training or having been willing to perform a support role for terrorism.

Agreed. We're too soft on traitors. They shouldn't be allowed to draw breath. He should have been shot back in Afghanistan and anonymously buried there.

I noticed the LAT doesn't have a word of compassion for Johnny Spann. But they devoted an entire op-ed page urging us to "understand" a traitor.

A poll of potential jurors in the Eastern District of Virginia at that time found that more than a third were ready to sentence him to death without even hearing the case against him.

Yeh, and So What? That's an automatic exclusion from being selected for the jury.

I'm betting that 'more than a third' of LATimes readers were ready to cut him loose 'without even hearing the case against him'.

Polls mean squat.

What a hoot! Scooter doesn’t reveal the identity of a non covert Democratic operative deep in Langley and gets 30 months for remembering things differently than a politically driven prosecutor wants to hear and they think he’s getting off light! Johnny Jihad participates in the murder of a CIA agent in the field, spends three years in the nursery called a federal prison and the LAT thinks he got off lightly?

Pulleeze.

It’s a war, not a criminal matter. But, since we’ve gone down the road, and since no one tried him as a traitor, like they should, then I personally don’t give a rip if he serves twenty years or ten years. I say that he should have his sentence commuted and shipped back to Afghanistan.

I’m sure they’ll have their own charges to file, and he can suffer in a real prison instead of the day clubs that pass for incarceration in this country.

this again demonstrates that the left wing lib/dem media does not support the troops...does not support the war and most definitely does not support the US!!!

to suggest release for a US traitor caught on a foreign battlefield fighting against american troops is insane and insulting!!!

the paper is currently circling the bowl and this should be the inpetus for all to STOP buying the paper and give it the final flush it so so deserves!!!!

This just shows the depth of depredation the media and the liberal party of this country has sunken. Blatant disregard of the principles and morals of this Republic.
