He doesn't want anyone else to leave money for their kids when they die.

Warren Buffett doesn’t have to leave anything to his children. They all have nice fat trust funds. He looks great saying he is giving all his money away, but he made sure his kids were well taken care of.

This is the height of irony. Barron Hilton himself was cut out of the family will, as his father (the founder of Hilton hotels) wanted to leave the bulk of his estate to charity. Barron ended up contesting the will after his father’s death and getting it thrown out. Now it looks like Barron is starting to understand the disgrace that can easily come as a byproduct of huge inherited wealth. Barron may want to prepare his own trustee for a will contest as well.

(and for god’s sakes won’t these people learn to hire chauffers? i take a cab if i’m too tired for a 10min walk, what about these ppl?!)

Agreed. It stuns me that with all the money they have, rich people still decide to drive to the clubs. Good God they can drive during the day and go limo during the evening. I cannot believe all the celebs that have been busted on DUI’s lately especially.

Let’s face it, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

More like a silver coke spoon.

really with that amount of money, wouldn’t a limo be suitable for any occasion? i’ve had a suspended licence before and couldn’t drive for two years but when i finally could it was awesome. i was gliding again, but thats not the case with these. if they like, they could rent out their own indy track and floor it!

simply stupid, esp with coke in your pockets and an alcohol level ready to break the breathalyzer. paris wasn’t too bad, lohan’s career is pretty much done. i’m wondering how much jail time she’s gonna get, this is not a light offense.

and btw a day before that arrest i saw that ankle bracelet on her, .. yo that wasn’t for GPS that was for monitoring sweat so what went wrong there?? how come as soon as she touched a drink, her pores didn’t set off alarms somewhere and the rehab people didn’t drag her in?

crazy.

That’s an interesting story. She neutered the monitor by padding it underneath with Saran Wrap. The pores were insulted from the monitor, so it never detected the alcohol. Clearly she wasn’t smart enough to think of that herself, but whoever gave her the idea hasn’t claimed credit yet. Good plan though, it worked perfectly.

It was the best gift he could have given them. Have you ever seen anyone who inherited vast sums of wealth who wasn't screwed up by it? Gramps saw what it did to the skank, he didn't want any of the others turning out that way.

By doing this, he guaranteed that they will despise her, until they come to pity her.

Warren Buffett has the same philosophy. I don’t know if he’ll leave anything to his heirs. I believe he once espoused a sentiment that when a wealthy man with no spouse dies, all of his wealth should go to the government.........

He's a hypocrite.... he has put his money into a "non profit" foundation with jobs for life for his spawn.

Am I angry or jealous...nope. He's done good by me, when I started making a little money I bought 5 shares of Berkshire Hathaway back in '83.

He's just a man, he's an opportunist and plays the system. I have no clue what his "true" beliefs are other than what he does with his money. Charlie Munger is actually an important part of Buffet's success.

Allow me to paraphrase the late Ann Richards:

Good for you Gran'Pa Hilton!!!

Yes, indeed.

I have a rather wealthy friend whose will stipulates that no grandchild will inherit if they either 1) smoke or 2) are living with a partner to whom they are not married.

Folks are entitled to leave their wealth as they wish

Should have been done long ago... of course this guy should have cut off his kids too...

Simple story, 1 man creates a vast fortune, his children who watched him bust his butt to do it, build it to even greater heights... their children who’ve never had to work a day in their lives, drain it, and by the end of their days or their childrens tops, its mostly frittered away.

In yesterday’s Sunday paper, Sears was a advertising a Paris Hilton bag for back to school. I called it part of the SKANK collection. Sears should be ashamed of itself marketing stuff under a low life like Paris Hilton to kiddies.

I like to see people earn their money, instead of getting rich on the works of others. I really doubt Paris Hilton has any dreams of expanding the family business, or creatinga new product or something else that is enterprising.

What you are advocating for is an guaranteed entitlement for Paris Hilton. Unless she is a minor and Gramps was her guardian, there is none.

I could not agree more. Even as a college kid, I knew never to have the “stuff” on your person. Let someone else take that hit. Also made sure ALL of the beer was in the trunk of the car (at least.)

And yes, call a cab (dont drive with another drunk) and take the $10 hit for the ride.

I guess I just never got THAT drunk.

Buffet has said that his kids won’t be poor by any stretch of the imagination, but they will get a very modest inheritence considering how much money he has.

I don't recall advocating anything. Maybe you can show me. For the hard of understanding (that would seem to be you) what I decried was the envious glee that PH was not going to get any inheritance from her grandfather - the "yeah yeah stick it to her!" attitude - that surprisingly many loser freepers show toward the rich. Kind of the same attitude that Hillary and Osama like to cultivate in their core supporters. As far as her grandfather spending his money that is obviously up to him, but I've noticed that most big "charities" with the exception of the salvation army either promote liberalism/socialism or like many faith based ones work to destroy our national integrity by encouraging illegal hispanic immigration.
