Patrick inherited 20 years of criminal misconduct, corruption, and extortion regarding the Big Dig and Massachusetts highways in general. A stone Marxist, he promised to "clean up Dodge" during the campaign. Now in office, he has vanished from TV and has taken to hiding in his office, shunning reporters, and when confronted, having a temper tantrum that they would dare ask him questions. He is a dead duck 6 months into his term. The Big Dig is 500% over budget and has made multi-millionaires of hundreds of former Boston Italian and Irish subcontractors, several of whom have had custom yachts and mansions built in Europe. The lead contractor has just admitted watering-down to substandard levels nearly $2B of concrete used in the Dig. This disaster will be with us for the next 100 years. Ted Kennedy and John Kerry are in this up to their scalps but will never be punished.

Welcome to Massachusetts politics.

This state is a mess, has been a mess, and will continue to be a mess.

I’ll give Romney credit, he tried like hell to fix it, but the bureaucrats went out of their way to prevent any change from happening.

And now we have Cadillac Deval giving us plenty of talk and no action, other than spending more tax payer money on his curtains.

O'Meara did not want to discuss her first month on the job and is nervous about talking to the press. "Maybe when she feels more comfortable," he(her press secretary) said.

LMAO!

Is there a background story on the "hundreds of former contractors" you describe as "multimillionaires... several of whom have had custom yachts and mansions built in Europe"?

They must have learned this from the commies. I'll never forget my visit to Poland, around 1990, where I saw countless concrete apartment buildings where entire wall slabs had fallen from the buildings.

There are some rumours floating around ol’ Deval. Maybe that has something to do with it.Read through the posts starting with #4
