'Vegansexuals' shun sex with meaties

A GROUP of vegans in New Zealand - vegansexuals - are shunning sex with meat-eaters because their bodies are made up of animal carcases.

"When you are vegan or vegetarian, you are very aware that when people eat a meaty diet, they are kind of a graveyard for animals," vegan Nichola Kriek said in the Christchurch daily The Press.

Another said: "I would not want to be intimate with someone whose body is literally made up from the bodies of others who have died for their sustenance."

Annie Potts, co-director of the New Zealand Centre for Human and Animal Studies at Canterbury University, identified the people she called "vegansexuals" in her research study, Cruelty-Free Consumption in New Zealand: A National Report on the Perspectives and Experiences of Vegetarians and other Ethical Consumers.

Hmmm...I think that these "vegansexuals" are practicing a bigoted form of discrimination.

I am a vegetarian who does not eat meat or fish and does not use any leater products. However, IMO this is going too far.

Are they willing to shake the hand of a meat eater?

Stories like this only make vegetarians look like loons IMO.

The vegans I have seen don’t have the energy and vigor required for the kind of sex meat eaters enjoy.

For future reference, any veggie jokes I make are aimed at these kind of people, not the normal vegetarians who think it's best for them, but don't shove it on anyone else. I met a vegetarian who said some vegan told her she was not a real vegetarian unless she also gave up dairy and eggs.

That said, after seeing Veggie Tales, I don't know how a good vegan could eat a vegetable. They have feelings too. ;-) Of course, my kids are bloodthirsty. I remember the jokes they made about Bob walking in on Larry making spaghetti sauce.
