The first time I flew to Minneapolis to visit my son and I experienced the Hubert Horatio Humphrey airport it seemed like a typical Democrat boondoggle that enlists all of the construction unions to put every worker to work pouring all possible available concrete. Likewise, it seems freeway crazy to me compared to other metro areas.

So, I got to thinking about 1967 being the construction date, LBJ and HHH. Humm, that's no surprise. Their housing projects were substandard too. Ultimately, Jesse Ventura, the wrestling governor, will probably shoulder the blame, though.

Pelosi really ought to come to grips with reality. She along with manyof her fellow congressmen, voted FOR the war, and now are voting against the war after this nation has already committed to it.

The infrastructure is crumbling because of the welfare state. TOO many people sucking off the teet, and not enough supporting the infrastructure including MS PElosi and her rich comerades, (edwards with his 1200.00 haircuts and Gore with his just ridiculous lifestyle.

It was I-35W not I-35 westbound. I-35 is a north south freeway even when it splits into eastern and western sections at Minneapolis-St. Paul and Dallas-Ft. Worth. I know it’s satire, but the author needs to get the basic details right.

Basically, Kathy did a Kathy Blanco...she said that it would be very hard to clean the mess up because ALL the equipment for the Kansas NG was in Iraq, and she simply didn’t have the resources. She didn’t actually say that President Bush caused the tornado by going into Iraq, but close. Total BS.

Since we are talking about the folks there, now is a good time for a small prayer that they are getting back on their feet. May God bless those people, they sure need it.

IIRC, the media first reported that this bridge WAS BEING WORKED ON when it collapsed. I have not heard that since day 1. I guess it doesn’t fit the agenda, so it must be suppressed.........

I will take bets that during any previous inspections of this bridge nobody thought to send down divers to inspect the bases of these verticle legs.

A summary of the bridge inspection was posted on FR yesterday and it specifically addressed the pilings and the "scour" around them, so they were inspected.

Yeah, the bridge collapsed, some Americans got killed, but don’t you feel good. We’ve got trillions for Iraq to rebuild the whole damn place because their too lazy. Jorge wants $300 million for Pakistan rebuilding, foreign aid to Mexico because they need our money, all the liberals want us in Darfur, we’re sending an American hospital ship to South America for a year - free medical for them, and people wonder why we can’t rebuild our infrastructure and complete a southern border fence.
