{Your Black Muslim } Bakery linked to violence in the past

OAKLAND -- When police raided Your Black Muslim Bakery and arrested seven people today on suspected involvement in three homicides, including Thursday's slaying of Oakland Post editor Chauncey Bailey, it was the latest chapter in a history of violence and arrests that have been linked to the longtime Oakland group.

And it wasn't the first time that journalists probing the group have confronted danger. Bailey, who was slain by a masked gunman near his office, had been investigating the organization's finances, according to a Post representative.

In 2002, after the East Bay Express, a weekly paper, published a series of articles documenting a long history of violence by bakery members, the series' reporter, Chris Thompson, was threatened and followed, says East Bay Express editor and co-owner Stephen Buel. For his own safety, Thompson worked in a different county in the months after the series ran.

"When we first published our stories, we received a bunch of letters to the editor congratulating us on writing a story that had long needed to be written, but we also got a brick through our window, and had a number of folks start shadowing the building and driving around and following some of our employees after they left the building," Buel said Friday, hours after authorities raided Your Black Muslim Bakery as part of probes into a series of killings, robberies and assaults.

"The threats indicated that they were from" Your Black Muslim Bakery, Buel said. "We have several threats left on voice mail that we obviously had a record of. One of the threats featured a taped quotation of a speech from Yusuf Bey the elder."

The East Bay Express published some follow-up stories to its 2002 series on Your Black Muslim Bakery, but the threats intimidated the weekly paper to the point...

This should have been stopped before Mr. Bailey was dead.

“This should have been stopped before Mr. Bailey was dead.”

Exactly.

And if it had been the Aryan Nations bakery, or the KKK bakery, the District Attorney would have had no hesitation
in closing the operation down.

But the DA let PC stop him...

No doubt the liberal media will spin this as a conspiracy by President Bush.

According to an article linked at Drudge :

“Lieutenant Joyner said that many residents of the neighborhood surrounding the bakery had been afraid of the Muslim group, whose members sometimes shot automatic rifles in the air in a show of intimidation. Other members of the group, the police said, flaunted their defiance of outstanding warrants on assault and gun charges.”

So why were these people allowed to carry automatic rifles (in OAKLAND), discharge them in the city (in the STREET), and not been arrested on outstanding warrants?

Almost certainly. The Liberal Media embraces Al-Queda with open arms.

I agree completely. This should have stopped long before he was murdered by courts/police especially since Mr. Bailey was threatened prior to his murder by this bunch.

It is obvious, intimidation works! Hell, most of the social welfare programs are not based on compassion, they are intended to keep the barbarians from playing with fire.

PC, or fear? I still don't expect to see the boat rocked much.

Part of the attractiveness some people find in PC is that one can be a coward but rationalize the cowardice as serving some noble politically correct goal. In that context, cowardice (or mere laziness or indifference) becomes a moral virtue of heroic porportions that everyone must applaud. The enemies of civilization thus use political correctness as a powerful weapon, which is really its purpose to begin with.

Add this story to the long list of other unreported “Jihad in America” stories by MSM.

“This should have been stopped before Mr. Bailey was dead.”

But that would have required Mayor "Moonbeam" Jerry Brown to acknowledge a crime problem that may have hindered his election as CA Attorney General.

Daniel Pearl was a white Jewish male. Bailey was a black liberal.
