Doesn’t look like “The Hill” article broke out the AD donations, but why does that matter?

It is a rare politician who pays respect to our nation's founding principles -- and is sincere about it. Unlike many Republicans who are all talk.

Well, I'm certainly not "all talk." I just happen to disagree with some of Ron Paul's ideas, foreign policy in particular.

So, tell me -- WHY do you think that the US Federal Government should give Military and Financial support to these Terrorist Scumbags?

I guess you noticed that you're doing most of the "pro-Pauliebird" posting and calling me a terrorist-supporter for not liking a "person" who advocates pulling out of Iraq, thinks Dems in control is a good thing, and thinks we brought 9-11 on ourselves maybe kinda was stupid?

You shot yourself in the foot. Fortunately, it was in your mouth at the time, armchair warrior.

“In return, please don’t begrudge me the fact that the largest plurality of your comrades-in-arms are supporting Ron Paul.”

Proof?

Also, you accused Darkwolf377 of giving aid and support to the terrorists. That's pretty low, in my opinion. I've had Paul supporters sling horrid false accusations and slander at me as well. Once you start doing that, all bets are off.

I haven't slandered you. I thank you for your service.

That being said, I do believe that there are bad reasons to yank Reservists away from their wives and children. I personally believe that providing Military and Financial support to the TERRORIST Government of Iraq is just such a "Bad Reason".

The Iraqi Al Dawa Party organized the Mass-Murder of over 240 US Marines in 1983. I REFUSE to call them the "Good Guys" NOW, just because they're in a Civil War against the Sunni Nationalists and Iraqi Al Queda.

There is NO such thing as a "GOOD" Terrorist. LEAVE, and let them KILL EACHOTHER! Forever and ever, amen.

“I NEVER FELT BETTER UNTIL I TRADED MY BRAIN FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORSHIP RON PAUL!”
[/Sarcasm off]

I find it really hard to believe that the military supports RP over all the other candidates...This is either an outright lie or propaganda.

RP will NOT defend the country, he cannot discern who the enemy is. Nor will he uphold military alliances with our allies. Further he is an anti-Semite.

In short, Ron Paul is a Fruit Loop.

RP worshipers tend to believe the Truther lies, that there are American Concentration Camps, that Russian and Chinese military forces occupy Iowa, and that mind controlling chemicals are dropped on cities via con trails .

In short, RP supporters are all the other Fruit Loops in the box.
(and there isn’t even a prize with this gang)

You do realize "at this point in the race" there was no race actually going on when Reagan ran? This election cycle has started - so the polls matter - much earlier than any prior to it. When there are candidates actually campaigning and you are sliding back, as in the case of McCain, or not going anywhere, as in the case of Paul, Huckabee, Thompson, Hunter, Tancredo, et al, you are politically a non-factor.

Ron Paul is politically irrelevant.

The only real factors in the Republican party are: Gulianni and Romney, with Thompson and Gingrich as potential factors if they get in the race.

Reagan was polling at 1-2% at this point in the race too.

I already read that stuff. First, it’s a combination of Wikopedia definitions and people’s opinions and blogs. The one point that I do agree with says more concentration on Iran, Syria etc and less focus on Iraq... but I haven’t heard Ron Paul say that. None of these issues answers the points I tried to make about general foreign policy approaches. Instead it’s the usual hyperbolic (great word, eh?) focus on Iraq, Iraq, Iraq and it sounds JUST like the Democrats. How about a foreign policy discussion that isn’t distracted by Iraq? In my opinion a retreat from Iraq reinforces the tactics our enemies used (the same tactics used in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia) and just guarantees another Iraq. You will get what you oppose again.

I'm no "armchair warrior"; I want my friends to come home.

Why don't you take their place, Big Talker?

Shut Up, Sign Up, and Ship Out.
Otherwise, you're basically full of crap.

The voice of the Paulie-girls--all braying armchair warrior crap.

It figures you cut-and-paste most of your responses--you wanna cut-and-run, too.

Where is the EVIDENCE of this "troop support," big mouth?

Nope.

These are Recorded FEC Donations, catalogued and referenced.

The US Military supports RON PAUL.

(and those WarMongers who claim they "support the Troops", but who DON'T sign up for duty in Iraq? Chickenhawk SCAMMERS and LIARS!)

Took a peek at Paul’s list of 2,000 or so individual contributions and went through the As and Bs to count 3 people who note themselves as affiliated with the military (AD not noted by the way, so no idea if they are reserve techs or not).

There are 1.5 million on AD in our military? So even if all 2,000 contributors were military it really is not noteworthy in this fashion.

For comparison, Guiliani has 22,000+ individual contributors, McCain 17,000+, Romney 25,000+ — did the author index all of them, or just took Paul’s claims at face value. I would imagine it would be the latter.

Love the “warmonger” language from Dr. Paul. Since when do conservatives talk like that?

Ron Paul's positions are spelled out in, last I looked, fourteen pages on Wikipedia. Of the fourteen pages, two are footnotes.

Incidentally, I'm a Ron Paul supporter and contributor who spent a year as a Lieutenant in the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam. I'm also a graduate of the US Army War College and a retired Colonel.

"I do not envy President Bush's dilemma. He faces what some might say is a bit of a Hobson's choice: act agressively now and perhaps spawn future Osama bin Ladens, or act with restraint and be subjected to possible future attacks originating out of Iraq. We do have a right to self-defense, but since September 11th it is much harder to establish clear perimeters of protection. We must proceed with care. We must be vigilant. But we must acknowledge that people definitely would die if we go in to Iraq."

This is from our pastor dated 2/17/2003 from a much larger article on "the just war" and national self-defense.

http://hotair.com/archives/2007/05/10/video-ron-paul-bircheresque-crank/

"I’ve got nothing to add to Ace’s post. Just wanted to make sure people head over there and watch the clip so they’ll have it in mind the next time this guy’s taken seriously by his fan club at Reason magazine or certain newstainment shows that really ought to know better. How he managed to parlay his Bircheresque crankery and cult-hero status among bottom-feeding Internet conspiracy theorists into a spot in the Republican debates is beyond me, but I guess there’s always room for someone who can work up a good head of steam about the Federal Reserve. Here’s an example. No need to listen to the whole thing, just the part between 1:30 and 2:00 if you’re counting up or 4:30 and 4:00 if you’re counting down. The man he’s chatting with is Alex Jones, one of the leading lights of the Truther movement and a crackpot so well and fully cracked that he believes Cho Seung-Hui might have been a government assassin brainwashed by the CIA to perpetrate the VTech massacre as a pretext for rolling back Second Amendment rights. This wasn’t the first time Paul appeared on his radio show, and I’m sure it won’t be the last."

This is either an outright lie or propaganda.

Since you don't know that you may want to consider that military personnel and their families are just voting with their donations. Could be a spouse of someone on their third or fourth tour who is sending in a donation in a soldier's name.
